Ooo...this is a tough one. Megalon's my fave. After that comes Gigan and 'Terror of MechaGodzilla'.

Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla. Serious, and well.. I personally found it more satisfiying than TOMG. Godzilla barerly made it through that one, and it showed.
Then its Godzilla vs Hedorah which happens to be one of the darkest films of the Showa Era.

I went with Godzilla vs. Gigan. That one'll always be my most sentimental favorite (if you don't count G'85). I really like all of them though.

Can you believe it though? There isn't a single quality release of any of these 5 movies on R1 DVD (at least Mothra, Monster Zero and Destroy All Monsters have gotten decent widescreen DVD releases).
If only those prints we saw on scifi were released on DVD!!

My favorite would definately be Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla, followed by ToMG and Gigan.
Up from the undercaves beneath the earth's crust, came yet another monster of

Of all the 70's films, I have to go with Smog Monster. It's the only one, that to me, gets better every time I see it. Plus, it did have some creepy imagery.

I voted for Terror Of Mechagodzilla,it just seems to me to be the best[atleast in it's complete version],it has most of the goofy and fun 70s elements but has a more serious tone and has rather more depth IMO-the downbeat ending is unusual and interesting-plus the effects are the best of the 70s films.
Second I would probably place Godzilla V Megalon-no,it's not a good movie but it's such FUN!Jet Jaguar getting bigger,Godzilla drop-kicking,the bizarre score,the inept kidnappers,just great fun.
