Alot of times, brief scenes are cut from the film in post production and would usually be included in the trailers. Its not just brief cut scenes but in some cases alternate angle shots of existing scenes.
For instance, in the Japanese trailer for King Kong vs Godzilla, you can see an alternate angle shot of Godzilla and King Kong trashing Atami Castle during the climax. You can also see an alternate angle shot of Kong swinging Godzilla around by his tail. There is also a shot of Godzilla spraying his fire (a distance shot) during his attack on the Arctic military base that was snipped from the final cut of the film.
I suspect that was the case with Jet Jaguar blinding Megalon with his eye beams. If I recall there was a shot of Jet Jaguar (in the Japanese trailer)growing giant sized while he is standing next to a dam that wasn't in the final cut of the film.
As for that supposed scene of Megalon and Gigan talking to one another, and Antonio pondering, I seriously doubt those scenes existed or were filmed, but who knows.
Remember when it comes to the Wkipedia, take what you read with a grain of salt unless its cited.

I remember watching this movie and thinking...
"Wow, this music is so awful."
But isn't the score recycled music from Hedorah?
Anyway, the movie is fun when you see it for what it is. Gigan and Megalon are expressive, and honestly it's pretty hilarious. Megalon's powers are really cool, even if it was Ghidorah trashing most of it...the napalm attacks are nifty. I always thought Megalon deserved a reboot, and I love Gigan, who is one of the coolest kaiju designs ever.

I was thinking about this film earlier, and I just can't get over how absurd this film is. It's the most backwards Godzilla film ever. The United Nations, or whatever, bombs islands off Japan and decimate Seatopia (albeit unknowingly), yet when the Seatopians decide to strike back, they're painted as the villains. The original Godzilla film condemns the use of nuclear weapons, but here the Big Oaf is willing to fight for them. What the "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!"?
