I was 9 when I first saw this. I still remember being genuinely shocked as the Xian double-cross unfolded, specifically when they played the tape with the ultimatum and later when the camera pulled back to reveal Godzilla and Rodan sitting under Xian control. I was riveted!

The only thing I don't like about this movie is that idiotic highland fling scene.

I loved this movie even when I was 5 years old. Definitely never found it "boring".

You know what's boring? Just about all of the Godzilla films made after 1991. No amount of "monster action" can save any of those movies from having some of the most forgettable characters ever seen in the genre.

The cast of MONSTER ZERO is just one of the many things that really make this movie work. The lack of kaiju screen time isn't a big deal considering when they are onscreen, it's damn good.

Yeah. I can't imagine being bored. The monsters look great (Ghidorah and Rodan being improvements specifically), the aliens controlling monsters concept is introduce, and we have a ton of classic Toho actors in top form...oh...and NICK ADAMS!

I actually think the cookie monster look was more prominent in Sea Monster, but that's just me.

Cookie Monster is awesome.
