Yeah, I don't get where the confusion still lies:

She is a Venusian descendant. The trauma from the explosion causes her to remember this...as well as a visit from the saucer-people urging her to dive from the plane in the first place.

Best portrayal of Ghidrah, ever. I love how maliciously random he is with his destruction, you really get the feeling that he's dangerously insane and completely out of control.

That is one of the reasons Ghidorah seems so insane. His heads are just going everywhere.

One of the (many) cool things about Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster is that it brings together several preexisting kaiju characters from prior films, similar to what Marvel has been doing lately with their superhero films that led up to The Avengers. This movie is the fifth entry in the Godzilla series but at the same time it marks the third appearance of Mothra and her twin priestesses, who encounter Godzilla for the second time, plus the return of Rodan.

What other Godzilla and classic Toho kaiju movies have you seen, extremedalek?

Ghidorah is one of the most entertaining movies in the series. It's a bit rushed and rough when compared to the movies surrounding it (which are two of the top entries in the series), but it's still made by the best selection of crew and cast in the series' history when they were at the top of their game.

Certainly there are a few people who agree with you, but aside from GvsKG, I loathe the 90s films...and though I don't loathe GvsKG, I hold no great love for it.

Also, the super hero Godzilla doesn't really emerge until the 70s. In the first 6 films, he's not very heroic at all, except in Ghidrah, and Monster Zero where he sort of becomes the hero by default. Ghidrah is a far worse nemesis, so when Godzilla fights him it's kinda like "Yay Godzilla...I guess" but he's still a terrifying force of nature that humanity wants gone forever.

Godzilla starts becoming more and more anthropomorphic with each '60s movie. That's why GODZILLA VS. THE SEA MONSTER and SON OF GODZILLA are often lumped in with the '70s hero Godzilla movies, even though everyone in the two island movies fears him.

The best thing about this movie is Ghidorah's rampage, followed by Rodan stealing the show. It's a super fun movie but I admit I like MZ more.

The DVD arrived today (really impressed with the delivery time from the States), so I can't wait to get stuck in. Mind you, I'll have to wait until the OH isn't around cos he hates Godzilla (fool!).
