So the movie is on right now, and while watching it a thought occurs to me. If it's been brought up before, sorry.
Could King Ghidorah actually have destroyed the Earth? If so, how long would it take?
Seriously. Yes, he flies and fires destructive energy beams. He seems to be immortal, so he's not going to age out. But come on. It'd take him hours to actually "destroy" a single city, and that's if he actually put his heads together and concentrated on the task. If he moves in a pattern, it'd take him years to fly from one end of the world to the other, destroying cities. If he flew randomly, it'd take him forever. Not to mention that when he's razing Moscow, Tokyo is rebuilding. By the time he works his way around to Madagascar, the Russians are patching things up. And so on.
That's also only if he focuses on the major cities. What about the small towns? Is he going to pay attention to small coastal vistas in Maine or France? What about small villages in Africa or the Middle East? Could he actually do a clean sweep of the planet?
I'm not a hero. I'm not a savior. Forget what you know.
I'm just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control.
