This is my all time favorite Godzilla movie. If I need a quick Godzilla fix this is the one I stick in the dvd player. Love the Godzilla design. The Aurora model kit based off this movie was the first g collectible I owned in 71 and I still have it. The battle still holds up well today except for the hand puppet scenes. There are a few shots in the movie that are the equal of any TOHO has ever produced imo. I enjoy the American and Japanese versions. Yes, there are plenty of flaws that members have already pointed out.
On the discussion of the Kong suits I prefer this one. It's picking apples and oranges with both rotten. KK62 reminds me of Kong x gigantopithicus. KKE reminds me of KK x Quasimodo.

^ I believe the game was released in 1963 to coincide with the US release of King Kong vs Godzilla. It came out with this King Kong game.

I watched it a couple of months ago for the first time in years and felt pretty much the same way. It's just so friggin' hilarious when Kong gets wasted on berry juice. I was laughing my ass off.

I can imagine Kong sitting at a bar somewhere, throwing back shots of berry juice and slamming the glasses down on the bar, talking loudly about the time he kicked Godzilla's ass and totally scored with this hot Japanese girl, making the other patrons uncomfortable with his loud, boorish behaviour. Eventually the bartender cuts him off and the bouncer comes up and says, "Look fella, I think you've had enough. Time to go."
