I always thought "Let them fight" was a strange thing for him to say after he had just waxed poetic about how mankind was mistaken in thinking that we control nature when it was actually the other way around...then he says "Let them fight," as in, "let us, the humans, allow them, the monsters (nature), to fight," as if we have a say in whether they fight or not. Like it's our choice or something. You just told us humans can't control nature! Seems contradictory to me...
Or am I just thinking too much? The first time I heard that, though, that's exactly what I thought. "But...you just said we can't control nature...and now you're capping off that whole speech by giving them your permission to fight?" Hmmm...
It would not have had the same impact, of course, but he should have said, "Well, as I've just alluded to, there's nothing we humans can do about this either way, so we might as well sit back and watch them fight. You know, just try to stay out of the way."
Yeah..."Let them fight" works better! Plus it makes a good meme.
