Anyone notice at 43/44 seconds when that ship is traveling among the underwater ruins of that sunken city/temple you can see a drawing of a monster on the wall, which I assume is Godzilla?

Yeah it definitely looks like Godzilla, in the same kind of style as the images of him in the Skull island post-credits scene.

I've never had enough self-control to avoid watching trailers. Even if I end up regretting it, I'll definitely watch every trailer they put out.

I've stopped caring about spoilers ever since I found out that they don't affect my enjoyment of the film in the slightest. In fact, I'd rather have a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" film spoiled for me so I can go in knowing what to expect. A great film though is great regardless of if I know all the details. The only films I don't tend to want spoiled are those films who's entire plot is based around a twist like Memento/Saw/Etc and even then those tend to be films I only watch once.

The first Godzilla was really good at keeping you in the dark throughout all the trailers. They even had fake shots to fool you.

This first trailer for Godzilla 2 showed a lot without spoiling anything. Compare it to the Jurassic World 2 trailer, which showed everything. KOTM showed all the new monsters yet they don't show them in well lit shots. Not counting Godzilla, which we all know what he looks like now. I hope they continue to do this. Just shots that gives us a basic idea of the shape and size of the monsters, but not what they look like in full until the movie is out.

BTW, I think one shot shows King Ghidorah's face in the trailer.

I’m of mixed minds on spoilers, on the one hand: no, it shouldn’t matter. Good movies are good regardless. That’s why we rewatch movies. On the other hand, you only get one opportunity to see and experience a movie spoiler-free, and I prefer to make the most of that opportunity.

Obviously, there's going to be speculation on any unreleased movie, but use your best judgment. If you're saying something like "Hmm....I wonder if Godzilla will fight two or three times" then that's just random speculation, but if you're saying "Based on the leaked script, Godzilla will fly, how do you think that will look?" then you're spoiling via speculation. So just be smart.

What makes this movie so exciting is that it's our first American kaiju movie that's a proper 'vs.' movie. So far, all of them have been about battles between kaiju, but what hasn't been this case is battles between kaiju that are both stars, you know? The Mutos and Skull Crawlers were supporting players, the Jeagers and Kaiju were soldiers in opposing armies, but in this movie we have four kaiju who are all star players unto themselves.

It's exciting, and probably hard to explain to someone who isn't familiar with kaiju movies.

^ I always assumed it was just a stand in for the still-in-progress Mutos. It'd be cute to have it cameo later (and it does seem that they're populating a world of monsters) but I wonder if it was even fully designed.
