So, if you watch that video, you can actually see desktop icons on the lefthand side of the computer screen.

That's not something that's actively being worked on. It's someone's desktop background on their computer.

My fakey sense is tingling.





EDIT: Also on Twitter(?)Facebook(?) somewhere, ADI replied to a comment about it being King Ghidorah and said, "lulz. It's from an old, defunct project called Lucifer."

^ Good eye. It's definitely the desktop background on that computer but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not the Ghidorah design that ADI is working on.

At the 3:55 mark, the employee in the background seems to realize that it shouldn't be on the screen and changes it to a screensaver.


EDIT: Aaaaaaaaand it's gone! ADI just removed the video. Hmmmm.....

^ Ah, yep. IMDB lists (2007) as a short film with special effects by Amalgamated Dynamics. Here it is on YouTube. A similar multi-headed dragon shows up at the 2:45 mark.




EDIT: It is worth noting that the dragon in this video looks significantly different than the CGI models in that desktop background from the removed video. It doesn't have any back legs, for one, and it's got four heads with much shorter necks. Claiming that those CGI models are from Lucifer may well be a clever cover-up, especially considering that studioADI still felt the need to remove that video. Why remove it if there's nothing in it to hide? I'll be curious to see if they re-upload that video with the glimpses of the computer monitor edited out.

I'm still leaning heavily on not an actual design considering it's their background, and not an active thing being worked on.

I'm in agreement with Jelly and believe this is also not the actual design. We shall see soon enough (perhaps an image will eventually show up at this year's Comic-Con).

Pursuant to the test screening and "early reviews":

Some guy on Twitter (literally...just...some guy. Named Jeremy Conrad.) yesterday tweeted "Heard there's a Godzilla test screening." then hours later tweeted "Don't know anybody at the screening. Just heard it's happening." then a few hours after that tweeted "Heard Godzilla battles are EPIC"

It all makes me wonder if people are just so DESPERATE for information that they'll believe anything because they want some "NEWS" or if they really are that gullible...

I don't think the King Kong preview has any baring on the actual design. I'm just going to assume it's real.

The Cloverfield influence is so embarrassing. I hate these Legendary monster designs so much. I can't wait for edgy, colorless Mothra.

The one monster I wouldn't mind them going buck-wild with is Rodan. I'd love to see a return to the owl influence of Invasion of the Astro Monsters.

If someone knew that the picture of KG was in the shot and shouldn't be, why didn't they just refilm the shot? I don't think it's KG. I think at best, it's just some scrapped model someone thought looked cool.

The two tails are what leads me to believe it's authentic. And if that's the case... well, I'm sure not crazy about it. One thing I really liked about the MUTOs in G14 was that they looked like they almost could have been designed as man in suit monsters. This does not.

I had someone DM me on another forum where the movie was being discussed and he/she said she was at the screening (signed no disclosure agreement so was careful not to say too much) and said King Ghidorah was very similar to the classic design and the "leak" was not what the monster looked like.

The monsters roars/sounds were also what we know and love but they sounded like temp stock sound effects.

Did anybody here ever think we would see other Toho monsters get the Hollywood treatment? Honestly I didn't think it was going to happen. I mean, prior to the announcement of G'14...

I'll eat my hat if we get an American Gamera or Ultraman.
