So Rodan is shorter than the male MUTO from the first film? Mothra's a lot shorter than I was expecting too, though the wingspan makes up for it.

Really digging how elemental the kaiju seem to be but I sure hope spindly Mothra isn't a thing...

Also, I'm assuming Ghidorah is from earth?

^ Great stuff. Since these images are supposed to be Monarch's direct analysis instead of interpretive art, this is probably close to how Rodan and King Ghidorah will appear in the movie.











Monster Zero does appear to have a wyvern stance and if he stands 521 feet high in that pose then he's going to tower over everything when he spreads his wings.

Kong would literally get his giant monkey but handed to him by any of these kaiju regardless of how big they make him. He needs some monkey magic.

And so it begins! Haven't had the chance to absorb this new Monarch site entirely. Did see that Rodan comes out of a volcano in Mexico and judging by the sketch concept, I'd say that the Aztec legend of Quetzalcoatl will come from Rodan! Very curious about these other Monarch sites (Skull Island is the obvious one).

Mothra doesn't look like a moth and has those awful long legs.

Judging by Monarch's sepia-toned photograph of a very bioluminescent Mothra, she definitely retains the classic silhouette when she's flying. Plus there's that sketch image and that previously released image that both show the traditional wing shape and even the classic patterns.

Odds are we'll get a good look at Mothra and Rodan in the first trailer if not King Ghidorah too.

The Monarch website says that Rodan is 154 feet tall, less than half the height of Godzilla at 350 feet but with a wingspan of 871 feet. Kaiju movies and TV shows have usually featured monsters of similar height since they've mostly been portrayed by actors in costumes in the past. I like the concept of battles between kaiju of radically different sizes (Rampage was awesome in that regard) so I think it's great that Rodan is at a Showa-level height for this new flick. Mothra also has a wingspan over 800 feet which is more than double Godzilla's height so he'll have his hands full dealing with either one of them, and of course Monster Zero will dwarf them all.

^^ Yeah, without those limitations there's no reason kaiju should be roughly the same height, but I would've been disappointed if Rodan were made too tiny - but with a wingspan like that it doesn't matter if he's not tall.
