I'm sorry that you had a bad day at work. That's tough, and we can all relate.

Please try to keep in perspective that being a fan of something doesn't automatically mean that you must love every detail about the subject matter- rather, being a fan just means that you're passionate about it. I think part of why so man Godzilla fans are losing their minds over the new movie is that for years, we've all acknowledged that we love the Toho movies, or at least most of them--- but the bigger picture is that we see the potential in this character and the ideas behind the classic films.

For many of us, G98 is despised not just because it's a lame movie--- but because of the missed opportunity it represents.

I feel the same way about many of the modern Godzilla films: I consider then lazy , iterative and shoddily made when they didn't have to be. I think it's a shame. But it doesn't mean that I love Godzilla any less than you do.

Genuinely, can you imagine what any number of hungry, young film makers might have done with a Godzilla movie and A 12 million dollar budget?

Opening sequence would make this snow day fly by. Had 22 snow days so far. I've taught only 6 days since Christmas.
Nice...hmmmm...has been the best topic on board for fun speculation, analysis of the script and good natured ribbing. Enjoyed everyone's thoughts except one who went bad. That would be expulsion at my school.

I think there's a place on boards like this for a "mostly no rules" on/off topic discussion area when waiting for a movie release. Sometimes there's not a ton to discuss. Being forced "on topic" is frustrating and lets the conversation die-I like this format of hamming around and then letting discussion of the topic at hand come and go organically is a lot more "real life". I can't stand overly sterile and P.C. forum interactions usually.

I'm glad that the powers that be haven't felt the need to smack us down- it's turned into a really fun spot I enjoy coming to regularly. Thanks to our gracious hosts. I'm quite sure we've been scoped out with a raised eyebrow at least a few times. I appreciate them having a spirit of fun.

Tyler was put in time out because he was spewing nonsense over in the DVD section. I've never received so many PM's requesting something specific before- not even for the script! Haha. A couple users on here know me, and that I do some work in disk authoring, but mostly-- they just wanted in in T/O. Might have to let Ernest off the hook soon. The playpen is getting full.

Those leaks might be a little late- I've got a client meeting to attend as it turns out.

So this is likely the reason why they used "Nautilus" as the alias when shooting the film. Interesting that the mining camp is devasted when Honda arrives. Having it be a UN helicopter transporting him seems a very Toho approach. If the male MUTO was hatched at the power plant in Hokkaido, and the female MUTO hatched in the Nevada storage facility (both eggs coming from this mining camp), is Godzilla the cause of the devastation here? Was he attracted to the radioactive frozen fossils? Or is this MUTO generated destruction? Then which MUTO (possibly a third)? The damage does not seem to be from human agents.

You had mentioned earlier that a female MUTO burrows beneath the Hokkaido plant, depositing a male egg in a chrysalis which causes the disaster. So it would seem that a fully functioning adult female may arise from this mining camp, cause the destruction there, then burrows from Siberia to Japan. But, since the script mentions that a second spore (egg) is stored in Nevada and hatches as the mate of the male, then this first female may die before then? Perhaps she had just enough energy to implant the male egg in the chrysalis beneath the Hokkaido plant? From the pages you've released, it seems a third MUTO is implied.

Looking forward to seeing how this continues.

SciFi Japan has connections with several studios (including Toho and Warner Bros.) that have been supportive of the site and shared information, images etc. We're not going to damage that by running leaked script pages or here.

If you guys want discuss leaked materials that's okay. If Snowdenzilla wants to host leaked pages so other can view them elsewhere that's his business. Posting pages here is not allowed.

To make sire everyone gets the message I'm going to lock this thread. You are welcome to start a new thread and continue the discussion as long as you want as long as you follow MZ Board rules.
