THR:
Trailer Report: 'Godzilla' Teaser Outpaces New Previews for '300: Rise of an Empire,' 'Maleficent'
The second spot for the "The Raid 2" was the only other new coming attraction in a top ten that otherwise featured returning favorites.
Andy Lewis wrote:
The first teaser for the new Godzilla update was the most-viewed coming attraction on YouTube for the week ending Jan. 26.

The trailer recorded 4.8 million views on YouTube, according to technology company Zefr, which tracks the numbers. The flame-throwing monster's preview has notched 27.8 million total views since its release on Dec. 10. The movie starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen opens May 16.

Things are slowly, steadily, surely, ramping up. If you look back to when ComicCon hit and the Godzilla Ecnounter and all that...the curtain is peeling back slowly but surely. I'm quite satisfied thus far. Little leak here, little tidbit there...I've not yet grown impatient. YET.

SIZE DOES MATTER in New 'Godzilla' Poster
As we still await a new trailer (the latest rumors are now that it's been pushed back to be tied with the 300: Rise of an Empire sequel out in March) Yahoo Movies! has been given this exclusive new poster for the movie which showcases just how tall this version of Godzilla is

I wonder if it's a coincidence that the new poster was leaked after the first teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy? I'm all for some media competition if it feeds us more content.

I'm sure the new trailer is comings within the next few weeks. The embargo (stupid) lifts on Godzilla's design in a few weeks as well so I'd expect for the marketing to really amp up soon.

To be honest though, who thought we'd have to wait til March to get anything for the movie beyond the first teaser? In comparison, look at The Amazing Spider-man 2 which has had an abundance of trailers already and even some figures appearing on the shelves from the new film.

The good news on that one (spidey) is that none of what's leaked has looked very good.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 could secretly be a bizarre arthouse film where a midget in a poorly designed Spiderman costume sits in a dark room crying for 3 and a half hours and it would still make $500 million dollars. Quality is irrelevant.

Disagree. Die-hards will still show up. But as the quality drops, the enthusiasm of the general audience dries up, leading to declining domestic returns.

I dunno, I think that might be backwards. The die-hards will complain if the movie is awful, but the casual masses will still show up and see it. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was, by all accounts, one of the worst things ever to be put to film, and it still made a boatload of money.

To be honest, I blame Transformers commercial success to both excellent marketing and undiscerning children/teens. However, I think most would admit that Spider-Man looks pretty garbage and he's getting old. I expect Spider-Man to do so-so, but not a run away hit.

You almost had me at "a midget in a poorly designed Spiderman costume..." That might crank the series up a notch!

You know what, I'd be more likely to go see that movie in the theater if that was the case.

Everyone does realize that, historically, the Spider-Man movies have done less business by the movie, with The Amazing Spider-Man being the weakest in return, right? I don't know if that trend will continue, considering the marketing, but I think a lot of audiences caught on to what the last one was really about when it was released.

Seems like the marketing is in full swing now. I might say it's a tad early actually, but I think it's safe to say if this movie doesn't perform well, it won't be because people don't hear about it.
