Think about it.. For those of us in the states, this means billboards, tv ads, merchandise, etc, all appearing MONTHS in advance..
I vaguely remember some of the marketing around Boston in 1998 for GINO.. There were buses and billboards and action figures galore! I saw that same teaser trailer of GINO's foot crushing the T-Rex in the Museum on TV countless times. I remember being so excited and was so happy that my "hero" would be exposed to all my friends who were ignorant of his existance to that point. Regardless of how I or any of you feel about GINO as a movie when it was all said and done, they successfully lured in the General Public to see it.
Don't even get me started on Godzilla 2000 just a couple years later.. I saw maybe one or two trailers.. And sadly when I saw it in theaters there were maybe 20 people total the opening night. By the third time I had seen it, less than a week later, there was no one but me and my buddy in the theater.
Thanks for reading my opinions
