Judging from Takarada's comments on the Japanese talk show where he announced it, he seemed pretty chill about the whole thing. And for anybody that knows anything about his personality, he's about the most positive person ever. He's hardly grieving, I'll say that.

And as for "who is to say if its better", when was the last time a cameo scene truly made a movie "better?" There's a difference between cutting characters and subplots that would make a film feel more complete and cutting a cameo scene to improve its pacing and run time (which happens all the time).

I don't know who this Tim Bean guy is...


...but he's kind of a butt.

I'm not sure it is about knowing if the film is better or worse off. I think it's more frustrating that fans are demanding something completely unrealistic on the behalf of someone's honor as if he's been shamed or something. It's ridiculous. Cameos are cameos. I'm not sure how that is insulting or why people are upset. Bummed? Sure, but until we see the scene, there's no way to know how it turned out.

Even Robert Scott Field posted about it. Come on, guys!

Yeah, every time I entertain the thought of serious discussion there I'm reminded why I shouldn't.

The only Bean I know is Mr. Bean! Don't worry, Godzilla fandom isn't the only place to hear about big egos. They're everywhere!

That reminds me if the head-splitting exchange I had on GCG about this.

Sometimes things are cut. I always find Stan Lee's cameos distracting in the Marvel movies but I know who he is and usually it doesn't take anything away from the film. Sometimes they're funny; sometimes not - but it is distracting.
