It would be cool if it was one of the Titans. If ever there was an opportunity for it to appear this would be the movie.

Our first listed piece of merchandise: a tie-in graphic novel to be released on April 16th of next year. The short description lists it as a prequel to the movie.

https://www.amazon.com/GODZILLA-Movie-t ... s=godzilla

The book list things are always the first to show up! I bet this film will have a fantastic 'art of' book.

^ i read every Godzilla comic i can get my hands on (Godzilla vs Gamera fan comic...check) and the Legendary prequel for 2014 is at the bottom of the stack for me and contradicts the movie despite being an official release. Really hoping this one is better (their KSI mini was certainly better than Awakening)

The MPAA giving the film a PG 13 must mean the film is finished enough to do so and that those rumors that the entire film would be massively reworked late this year into next were so much horse hockey.

if that is the cover and not a teaser for the cover then i really dislike it from a layout perspective. The border around it feels so half-hearted (make it embedded in stone or something) rather than floating there with the title added to the bottom like an after thought.

fingers crossed this is better than Godzilla Awakening, which imho is the worst Godzilla comic in a crowded field of misfires.

This has probably come up before, but just in case...

I had a random thought today. A supposition, if you will. I've watched the trailer roughly a billion times, and I'm convinced that the voiceover in the trailer is not the speech given in the movie. Rather, it's assembled piecemeal from other lines and cobbled together. The way it's presented, mankind is the cause of the Earth's problems and the Titans are the cure. I think it's pretty obvious that the infection she speaks of is actually King Ghidorah. The implication there is that the Earth gave birth to the kaiju to defend itself from KG. While Godzilla is, of course, the Earth's main weapon against the three-headed terror, I believe there was a secret weapon hidden up the Earth's sleeves: the MUTO.

This was my supposition: Godzilla and whoever his allies happen to be in the upcoming battle might be wishing that the King had left a MUTO or two around, given their EMP-emitting powers. A power that cancels out electricity would be pretty useful when fighting a monster with bio-electric properties. If fact, given their evolution in a prehistoric world that had no electrical presence apart from the occasional lightning strike, it's the only real, logical explanation for why the MUTO's developed that power anyway: as a defense against a bigger, bio-electric threat. The EMP blast itself didn't seem to be an offensive strike, the way an electric eel's discharge is. It did no physical damage to either Godzilla or its immediate environment, so it's an ineffective weapon against anything not electrical, and it was definitely a conscious effort for them to set it off, otherwise the EMP effect would have followed them wherever they went.

Then again, the Monarch site still shows a station in Japan. Maybe the male MUTO had a twin? Or maybe I'm just sleep deprived. Either way, that was my thought.
I'm not a hero. I'm not a savior. Forget what you know.

I'm just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control.

Interesting thoughts, it was mentioned elsewhere that the EMP did have a dampening effect on Godzilla’s atomic breath, obviously not enough to cancel it but likely the reason he knew he had to get up close and personal for the kill shot. That said a EMP from a Muti would probably be the best defense in combating Ghidorah. If KG agents carried over to the next film it could be used by the humans or even if spiders are true
Spoiler Below:
if someone salvaged Ghidorah’s severed living head, as a method to contain it safely in an EMP field

Should be close to another look at the movie in the next month.

Well, it's not like we needed any more debunking of that rumor that the film is a disaster and that Warner Brothers wanted it substantially reshot during the latter part of this year and into the early parts of next.

Talk of a second trailer has been rather quiet. I thought that perhaps one would surface during the "Fantastic Beasts" run. More likely, the second one might debut during "Aquaman" in December. But truth, be told, I really do not want to see another trailer! I want to see Ghidrah, Mothra and Rodan in all of their glory, while I am watching the movie!

How does it debunk the rumor the film is a disaster? The bad test screening still stands.

At the very least it debunks the rumors that the movie was pushed back because of reshoots and that the reshoots were anything other than standard, pre-planned reshoots that happen on EVERY SINGLE MOVIE these days.

I don't think you can put much weight on a test screening for an effects based film. Mad Max Fury Road test screenings were horrible and the finished product went on to critical and financial success.

There were (supposedly) two.

One was (supposedly) super duper early in the game and was like "It'll be good when it's done...because this wasn't even half-finished" and the other was (supposedly) "ZOMG It's a total mess what a piece of crap the world is coming to an end and everything is terrible"

I trust neither report.
