Biggs was so unconventional yet worked, so I kinda trust the judgement of these guys.

Most of the stuff I've seen Biggs in, he hasn't had a need to alter his voice much, so I was apprehensive about him sounding too average. Green on the other hand, with Robot Chicken and other stuff, has shown that he has a wide range of voices but I can't really think of a voice he did that'd fit a non-parody of Leo.

But that's why I'll be happy to have my fears proven wrong. And I agree I doubt they'd cast Green and have him voice Leo as Chris from Family Guy.

Seth Green as Leonardo is still weird and hits the ear in entirely the wrong way.
The show is still fun though.

This show is still easily my favorite thing on television. Just picked up the box set of season one. Shame it's not on blu ray but I'll take what I can get.

Really don't like Green in the part but maybe with time he'll grow on me.

I've really been impressed with the farmhouse episodes (Mostly because while they all deal with a mutagen mutation of the week the setting allows for things the New York episodes haven't). I'm still really excited for their return to New York (1 episode left before that). Season 2's finale was amazing and I'm really interested in seeing how everything changed in the time they've spent away.

I've only sorta kinda tried catching this on TV a couple times but man, I can't stand the animation. I've not been able to watch an entire episode, because the animation is that aesthetically displeasing to me.

Okay, season 4 now. 3 felt like it went a little all over the place and it's ending would have been great if it wasn't for the "this is so awesome!" ending line. But season 4, as outrageous as it is, feels a lot more focused. But the next episode is going to be... interesting.

I read about this online yesterday. Kind of like an extension of "Turtles Forever". But it is cool they got all the original; VA's form the 80's show (I know one of them still voices the new one but...) I watched the first couple episodes on Hulu a couple of years back. I would definitely watch this if it came on Netflix. Too bad the crossover is just a single episode and not a full film or multi-episode story arch.

Some sort of licensing image shows a new samurai-themed TMNT toyline - featuring Usagi Yojimbo! And Usagi's nemesis Jei! I suppose they'll be appearing in the show.

Man, an actual Usagi show by the Avatar/Korra folks would be ideal.

Apparently this show's next season will be it's last before Nick reboots the TMNT as a traditional, 2-D animated series.

... but not before they do an Usagi team-up episode, thankfully.

It's cool that April is black, 'cause she was originally drawn as racially ambiguous in the early years of the comics, with Kevin Eastman saying he based her on his then girlfriend, who was black.

The turtles look pretty yucky though. It feels like they're just trying to look different from the previous take without much thought as to how or why

Bought the latest DVD set of the TMNT '12 show and finally, finally watched the Usagi Yojimbo three-parter. Design was awesome, really succeeded in bringing Usagi and Jei into the world of CGI animation. They studied Kurosawa and other samurai movies to borrow distinct visual motifs and outright homage. Stan Sakai wrote the first episode, so he was able to establish the right tone up front and the addition of Stan's artwork to Usagi's origin flashback as well as the awesome final battle with Jei (with skull balloon!) are highlights.

... it wasn't perfect, though. Usagi comes across as a bit too serious, a bit to much of a tough guy. Usagi is tough, of course, but this is a harsh world full of folks acting tough and it's a point that Usagi doesn't give off that vibe. Frequently people underestimate or ignore him for this reason. Usagi is formal but friendly, defined by his empathetic nature. Partially the problem is that Usagi's tasked to take care of this bratty child, so Usagi's is constantly slightly irritated in this story.

Another problem, and this is something that is probably my biggest problem with the TMNT '12 show: the environment is usually quite empty. There are never a lot of people around, which I assume is a cost cutting measure so they don't have to design and animate a bunch of 'extras.' Usagi's world is full of folks doing their usual 17th century Japanese routine, and our observation of them and Usagi's interactions with them is a large part of what gives the series it's distinct color.

Oh, and one more thing: all the voice actors for Usagi's world seemed to be either Japanese or Japanese American and that just added so much authenticity. In previous TMNT cartoons Usagi was always a white guy doing a fake accent.
