Just got caught up on this. I really, really, really love this show. It's nice to like something Disney has done for once.

Disney sucks when it comes to home video. Phineas and Ferb has been a phenomenal success for years and no season sets! Gravity Falls begs for a great release with commentary and such that unpack the mythology, ect.

Tonight's episode was decent enough. I really loved the not-so-subtle homage to Spirited Away.

So it's down to two more episodes. As from my understanding Alex Hirsch only planned for two seasons, and it does seem like the main mysteries have been solved with in reason and this ending can't be topped.
Absolutely loving this show. It's funny and totally messed up. I mean seriously, there's some stuff in here that I feel like shouldn't normally be in a kid's show let alone a DISNEY kid's show.
And from the most recent episode...
Not that I don't approve of such content. I'm just pleasantly surprised that it was allowed.
Also some what sad by the fact that this is all we're going to get of it. In a way I feel like the story is great as it is and understand not wanting to run this puppy into the ground. But at the same time I love watching these characters get into mishaps and what not and hope that maybe he'll come up with an idea for a third season and then some.

I hate to see it end, but even if I extended it, it'd just be one more season.

Loved these last few episodes. The finale airs in January, right?
The ironic thing is that while the series has been a cult hit all along it's taken a while for it to gain the audience share to be a hit by any definition: the show's more popular now than it's ever been, so Hirsch is going out on a real high. I'm sure Disney is a bit chuffed by that, though. No doubt they'd prefer making it's run comparable to Phineas and Ferb now that the ratings are good.
Once the series ends I'd love to have a complete Blu-Ray (hell, even DVD) set so I could watch it all in one go in order and catch all those episodes I missed due to Disney's random scheduling. Disney's typically horrible on that front, but even they seem to realize the show has an older, passionate fanbase, so who knows?

I've been hearing lots of speculation as to what he's going to do next. Disney would be dumb to not offer him another show. But with his friendship with Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland, some are expecting him to maybe jump to Adult Swim so that the BS&P he'll deal with would be more lenient.
Regardless, I'm sure what ever he does will be watched heavily, at least at first.

Last episode was an amazing piece of work. I love this show and it was one of the best cartoons I've seen in quite a long time.
Satisfied it even got an ending.

A part of me really wishes that there would be a 3rd season or more. But I understand, Alex had a story of one grand summer vacation and he told it and didn't want to stretch the story and characters thin after so many seasons.
I just hope this pops up on Blu-ray sooner rather than later.

Pretty damn satisfying finale. I was tearing up a bit at various points there near the end.
