I saw The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle movie (came out in 2000) on T.V. about 4 or 5 months ago. I was surprised that it was actually a good adaptation -- watching the movie seemed very much like watching the cartoon.
Seeing as most movie adaptations of classic T.V. series aren't very good {IE Dragnet, Beverly Hillbillies, The Flintstones, etc. -- even the 2 movies for the Addams Family are merely so-so} it's dissappointing that Rocky and Bullwinkly movie didn't do better. Although that could be due in part to a poor ad campaign, I don't recall seeing trailers or tv spots (though I could have forgotten about them).

^I'll have to see it after I finish the series.
I though the George of the Jungle movie was funny, largely due to the narrator.

Resurrecting this thread to point out that Amazon Prime just released (much to my surprise) a brand new Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon series! It's pretty good, but I miss the co-features like Dudley Do-Right and Fractured Fairy Tales. The fact that it was a collection of cartoons and not simply one cartoon is a big part of the appeal.

^ I guess they shop shows to various streaming services just like they used to with TV networks.
And I've thought of why R&B have no co-features: Dreamworks probably sees them as viable IPs unto themselves and don't want to waste them on shows-within-a-show. They've already made Peabody and Sherman into a movie and Netflix series, maybe they have plans for Dudley Do-Right as well?
