Fox's Spidey 1994 series will always be my favorite, and despite HATING "spectaucular" in the beginning, the stories grew on me towards the end, although i never was a fan of the art. But unfortunately instead of letting Spidey rest, Marvel/Disney wants to cash in on yet another animated series:

I can't say I'm surprised. Simply the fact that the makers of "Spectacular" stated they were going to wait until they saw the results of DVD sales before making a season 3 was total garbage IMHO. TV series which were resurrected soleley based on DVD sales (Family Guy & Futurama) are very rare, and I dont think would ever happen with a kids show since you have at least a 2 year gap because of the "wait and see" attitude, meanwhile your target audiance is going on to other shows, or outgrowing cartoons altogether. The show got interesting toward the end, but could never live up to the FOX 90's series. Still I think Marvel/Disney needs to give Spider-Man a reprieve from animation for about 10 years or so. Just making another toon to sell more toys, while it may be profitable, dosen't make for quality TV, but I guess nobody cares anymore. Case in Point- Transformers- while one of my favorite genres, the contstant change of animated series every 2 years has made it quite unenjoyable for me.
