Is it just me, or did everyone seem really out of character in that trailer? It was like all the edges of their personalities had been sanded down.

Okay, I don't want to be negative - but didn't they make a big hubbub about this female focused cartoon to inspire young girls and then the end result is something that's obviously so very cheap? Not that they can really be faulted when the last two movies had female protagonists, but still, this looks a bit like the successor to the Ewoks and Droids cartoons from the '80s.

I was surprised at how "cheap" the animation looks, it seems like the show was originally intended as shorts for Youtube or similar.

They all struck me as slightly off too. The only that seems truly out of character to me is Jyn Erso; we're shown a Jyn Erso that's only her in the last half-hour of ROGUE ONE (and even then her sudden turn as the last true believer in the Rebellion is somewhat puzzling and rather quick). At the beginning of ROGUE ONE, and presumably for some time prior, Jyn Erso is more interested in keeping her head down and off the Empire's radar.

Deadline November 28, 2018:
‘Star Wars Galaxy Of Adventures’ Trailer Reveals New-Look Animation With Old-School Sounds
Geoff Boucher wrote:It looks new but it sure sounds familiar. That’s the first-take reaction many Star Wars fans will have when they watch the just-released trailer for Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, the latest iteration of the Jedi universe.

Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures is a new series of slickly produced, anime-informed shorts that use the familiar dialogue, sound effects and music from past Star Wars films. That old-school audio is paired with new-look visuals from Titmouse Animation, the Los Angeles-based studio whose credits include Marvel’s Black Panther and Rick and Morty.

The result is a fizzy, stylized and kid-friendly cartoon adventure that just happens to have a world-class voice cast (Harrison Ford, James Earl Jones, the late Carrie Fisher, etc.) and an all-universe score from John Williams.

The first six animated shorts premiere Friday on StarWarsKids.com and more will follow in the months leading up to the theatrical release of Star Wars: Episode IX in December 2019. That film is the finale of the Skywalker saga that began four decades ago and spans eight films. The new series of animated shorts is intended as a way for parents to recap the space opera — so they can indoctrinate a new generation in time to share the popcorn when the new film arrives in theaters.

“Galaxy of Adventures walks through the great moments and themes of the stories that led us here and introduces a new generation to them, in time for many to see this finale,” James Waugh, Lucasfilm’s VP Franchise Content and Strategy, said on the Lucasfilm website.

If they wanted to do SW animated, they should have just done the whole thing. These short form series really don't offer anything of interest. I've seen a couple unofficiall animated SW that look so much better.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

They are away of introducing the characters and concepts to small children raised on short YouTube content, effectively catching them up without necessitating then to watch all the previous movies and making them receptive to new movies and TV shows and whatnot.

What horrible parents would "raise" children to have such short attention spans...*looks at society*...nevermind... :(

I enjoyed these. The Han and Chewie one was funny. If these weren't official they would have spread across the net like that Star Wars anime short did.

Also was that Rufio narrating?

io9:
Evangeline Lilly Wanted to Play Princess Leia, But Carrie Fisher Already Had It in the Bag
Germain Lussier wrote:Evangeline Lilly actively asked to be a part of a project one time, and one time only. It was when she found out J.J. Abrams was making a new Star Wars movie.

“Several years ago, when I found out that J.J. Abrams was remaking, or rebooting, the Star Wars franchise, it was the only time in my career that I’ve ever put a call out. I wanted to be Leia,” Lilly said talking to Syfy.

Obviously, at the time Lilly didn’t know exactly what the movie—which would become The Force Awakens—actually was. She just knew Abrams (from his work on Lost), loved Star Wars, and wanted to cover all her bases just in case. It was, after all, a childhood dream.

“I was so in love with Leia when I was a little girl,” she continued. “Those were my two fantasies: to be a woodland elf and to be Leia tied to Jabba the Hutt in her sexy bikini. But then they called me back and said, ‘Well, there’s a little-known actress called Carrie Fisher who will be playing Princess Leia.’ Well, FINE, I guess that’s OK.”

Luckily there was a consolation around the same time. Lilly was cast as Hope Van Dyne in Marvel’s Ant-Man, with the plan of becoming the Wasp after that. “If I got to be a woodland elf and Kate from Lost and Leia, that would cover it. And then I got to be the Wasp! That’s all the big franchises,” she said.

Lilly will next be seen, somehow, in Avengers: Endgame. A film that, predictably, she can’t say much about. But head over to Syfy to read what she had to say, plus some thoughts on Lost, The Hobbit, and her new book too.

My kids have seen SW, it's one of the most accessible film series available, in one form or another. If kids seek this out on their own, i guess that's one thing, but then the adults have to go through the trouble of explaining, when the kids see the actual film, that the *silly little animated clip* isn't the way it happened....

Kind of like how Obi-wan said Vader killed Luke's father. It's true, from a certain point of view.

Luke Called him on his lie. Hopefully Han and Chewie would call out Leia also if she ever "told it" like that.

Obi-wan didn't lie, what he said was true, from a certain point of view. "Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view"

Did people forget that exaggeration is a form of comedy or that these animated snippets don't need to 100% accurate shot for shot recreation?
