O.Supreme wrote:As a father myself, I can only give you one piece of advise DONT DONT DONT...take your child to see this film... You will be much better off with The Incredibles 2. Also I'm not sure if there is a smaller/budget theater in your area, but if there is, I'd definitely recommend that. We took our kids to the smaller format theaters until they were about 5/6. For a couple of reasons..

1. As you mentioned, I don't think they could sit through a long format film
2. I did not want to be disrespectful to others who had paid premium price for a new film
3. I figured they would not remember, and I wanted their first *big time* movie theater experience to be a good one, they could remember fondly.

I mean for the record, my parents took me to see Empire Strikes Back in 1980, I was 4. We sat in the front row, and back then, the seats were literally so close to the screen you did get a crink in your neck from looking up. Also that blaring Mono soundtrack and sound effects from behind the screen in those days was pretty traumatizing  .

If you can be patient, I'd definitely take them to Incredibles 2 near the end of its theatrical run if you have such a theater in your area. besides the "bright colors" and happy music of Teen Titans Go may be more appealing to a toddler, but your brain will melt from it's sheer stupidity, and general lack of respect for common decency.

I've seen some of the trailer for Teen Titans GO to the Movies and I like what I've seen. It looks like harmless fun.
I maintain I'd rather take my kid to it than Incredibles 2.

So, did anyone went to see the movie? most reviews mention it's actually pretty good.

I liked their review:

And now it's $33,498,382 Worldwide, not counting the countries were it hasn't been shown yet.

I might be surprised if it makes it to 40 millions.

At a budget of $10 million, it's done well enough.

Just by way of comparison, The Clone Wars Movie back in 2008 made 68 million off of a budget of 8.5.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

What I want to know is how the PowerPuff Girls movie bombed back in the day. That movie was really good!

Not exactly sure, maybe it was limited theatrical run? I know CN advertised the heck out of it, but beyond that, it may not have had much.

I know summer of 2002 was a pretty stacked summer for movies (SW Episode II, Spider-Man, MIB II, Ice Age, Lilo & Stitch, Minority Report) In fact it came out just before I got married, and wedding plan craziness kept me from seeing all but the biggest movies that summer, I did not end up seeing PPG until it came out on video a few months later.

It's about like the 1986 Transformers Movie. Its amazing legacy speaks for itself, but theatrically it bombed (I bet it makes more money on it's single Fathom events single night release in September than it's whole entire run  ). And yet...the Care Bears got 3 theatrical movies because the first did so well...How does that work? Certainly I did not even know about the sequels until I looked them up on Wikipedia.

That... is not what I wanted at all.
I'm not a hero. I'm not a savior. Forget what you know.
