XCII is 92.

Really looking forward to this. I wonder when CN Japan will air it? Guess I could check...

Hmmmmm, why 92?

No idea. I haven't seen the new show. Was the first one labeled Episode XCII? Maybe since it's set 50 years after the last episode, they jumped 40 episodes...

(EDIT)
Some (but not much) explanation here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samurai_Jack_(season_5)

"All Samurai Jack episodes are designated by Roman numerals, and the original series ended with episode LII. Season 5 starts with episode XCII."

I loved the beginning of episode 1.

"That was the old Aku, this is the NEW Aku!"

"I thought after I destroyed all of the time portals I would just wait it out, but it has been 50 years and he hasn't aged. All he's done is grown that stupid beard."

lol

Also, loved seeing them bring back the use of light in this show as that battle scene in the temple was badass.

Though I'm sad that Jack has come to a close, this new(and last)season was perfect. Couldn't think of a better way to wrap things up. Excellent work by all!

Thirteen years ago in a distant state, a foolish cartoon network wielding their ratings chart stepped forth to cancel that which had been loved. Thanks to the powers of the internet, the fans threw up their arms in frustration and started a surge of petitions, where voices are unlawful. Now the foolish network was forced to conclude the program, and undo the injustice that was made.

And you better believe it was well worth the wait. There were a few moments I felt were kind of rushed (specifically how everyone managed to get to Aku's fortress in mere moments), but that aside, it was grand. I felt like I was watching the finale to a Sentai series. Or everyone coming together to battle Sauron while Frodo destroyed the ring in Mt Doom. That was epic. I laughed my ass off at the Scottsman naming off all of his daughter, but my favorite moment was when Aku said, "What? Back already?" at the end there. The ending was slightly sad, but expected. In fact, the ending was very Japanese.

Oh man, but the cameos, the cameos were great. The jumping dudes, the robot professor, the Spartans, etc. Then you had him recapping the original opening. All of it was great. I can not wait until WB puts this season out on BD because you can bet your ass I will be buying it. I just hope they decide to put the first 4 seasons on BD even if they are just upscales and sell them off as one giant box set.

Now... how about filling in the 53-91 gappage?

It was a very satisfying ending.

I can see how the main storyline could have been condensed into a movie, but I sure am glad they were allowed all these episodes to build everything up and do all that stylistic experimentation (especially heavy in the first half of the season).

There's a pretty nice Rick and Morty/Samurai Jack crossover that addresses the ending here: http://bluetoadscomics.com/artist-creat ... VC4UCdtmUk

Pretty awesome.

I wonder if remastering the original seasons in HD was so it could fit comfortably in Adult Swim reruns? Those SD versions they aired to promote the final season looked really bad.
