now i ask who will have the better KG design bizarro toho or meat and potato legendary,now this will be a good discussion.

i am not anticipating either unseating a previous design in my preferences. As long as they move better than Kaizer Ghidorah, i will be able to point to that as a positive

Seems like crossover between this board and Toho Kingdom has gone down since I last actively posted on either, but I wanted to link this here for anyone who doesn’t check TK. I saw the movie this weekend and have put up a review and summary.

Heavy spoilers, so click with care! Bottom line: I really enjoyed it! Not genre-transcendent, but an interesting use of the material and a tense, well-executed movie. Looking forward to the third.

I can say, as a whole, that for those who dug the basic premise and direction of the first film, this one is more interesting in just about every way.

For those who were put off because they wanted a more traditional take, this one will probably leave them even colder.

^ My issue with the first film isn't that it isn't a traditional Godzilla film, it's that it isn't a traditional film in any narrative sense. I guess you can pull off a "story in 3 parts" if it's a miniseries released over a couple days, but to space these entries out so far apart and call them a film trilogy isn't doing anyone any favors.

I just came here to see how many didn't care for the anime. Haha.

Well I guess early reports that the 2nd movie would be up on Netflix this week were somehow mistaken.
Oh, well I guess I will see it when it comes on there eventually.

While I might be in the minority, I thought the first movie was really well done.
I like the style they are using, and making Godzilla truly HUGE is cool as heck.
The dub is really well done as well (I still kinda prefer that option on a first view of any anime).

^ It was The Hollywood Reporter mis-phrasing the fact that there was a festival screening this week.

When I watched the first movie a second time I did so with the dub and enjoyed it a lot more. I'm gonna go dub first with the next one.

^July 13 or 20 is going to be my prediction (the first film appeared on Netflix exactly 2 months after the Japanese release date), the two Fridays I have listed would be within that timeframe. I could be wrong, but just basing it on the pattern of release of the first film

July 18th for Godzilla anime part 2
September 21 for Shinji Higuchi's new anime "Dragon Pilot" (which looks like Monster Trucks but with airplanes)
