Godzilla: Monster Planet Trilogy *SPOILERS*

As much as I - and I'm sure a great many of us - would love to have Biollante as part of this movie's backstory, I have to wonder how effectively and economically the necessary set-up could be worked in so that general audiences wouldn't be left confused.

I expect mysteries to be unravelled over the course of the three movies. If anything, I expect the first movie to mainly be humanity vs. Godzilla, and probably some surprising revelation leading to a cliffhanger for the next one to pick up from.

To be fair films like Dogora, and Matango were acknowledged in the 8 bit NES game way back when...one of the things that endears it to me even now...but yeah this is a first in film, one of the advantages of animation. I'm sure most of these mentions will be small...but I've always argued if there was an episodic series, that would be the perfect opportunity to dedicate an episode to pretty much every Kaiju in the Toho universe.

Wait, so has it been confirmed that this Godzilla is a plant? Or is it just a rumor based on its appearance? If not, that's really strange to have a plant based Godzilla. Especially since there's already Biollante. Not to mention Biollante has Godzilla cells.

I'm suffering from a giant monster information overload with all the giant monster and Godzilla movies coming out.

The pics look great. I'm still just expecting a Pacific Rim like opening montage with just a couple brief scenes of each monster, but if we get more, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I really cant think of a Toho Monster design I really don't like, (aside from Minilla of course...) maybe Gabara is a little on the goofy side, but back when I was collecting toys, I'd have been all over a standard Bandai if they made one.

Like IDW's Rulers of Earth, I'd love for this to be a Kaiju love fest, but I'm pretty sure we are not getting that, but hopefully in the future, we might if this turns out well.

I've been interested in an anime Godzilla since Toho started the millennium series,but this series looks cheap. I'll still watch and probably like it,but looks like a dropped ball IMO

It looks like there's a bit of space between the end of Godzilla's snout and the base of the beam. My guess is he generates some kind of electromagnetic forcefield around his body and he can concentrate the power into a beam.
