if they do go "Godzilla vs Evangelion" route let it be a team up between the two.

I have to say, I'm a tad surprised that there's as much middling to negative feedback on this as there is.

To me, something like an anime is the place to do crazy stuff and go off the rails. The visibility on it is going to be WAY less than a movie. It will be easier to ignore things you don't like. It's somewhere between movies and comics in terms of the visibility. The comics do some crazy, good, bad, stupid, wonderful, horrible things...but nobody's pitching a fit because they're over there.

Given the spoilers we know for Shin Goji, I actually wish it would have been an anime. Somehow, that'd make it seem more palatable.

Is any of this making sense? I'm a little off my game and rambly.

I want an all out war with Godzilla vs aliens, KG, Gigan, Mechagodzilla and whatever they can shoehorn in. Get ridiculous!

While im good with a GodzillavsEvangelion anime, I would love to se Toho take things further and make either an animated series or an ova with Godzilla. Especially a showa Godzilla show based on his 70's hero incarnation, that would be crazy.

With anime the sky's the limit as far as story goes. They could base it off the 60's/70's Godzilla. Continue the heisei story. Continue the Shin-Godzilla story(though I hope they'll keep doing sequels in live action).

Ok, no news about the Godzilla anime, so I guess we can especulate until then.

O.K. so, Whatt about the human characters, there will be anime versions of previous characters (Miki Sawgusa for example) or we will have new characters, or amybe even both?

Anime Godzilla vs Gigan characters?!?!?!?! I had never even considered the possibility until now. And now I want that more than I want any other Godzilla thing ever again forever.

An anime continuing the Showa series would be interesting, because it means starting from a point when all these monsters and alien races and whathaveyou have already been introduced. Starting with a full toybox!

I did a lookup on the godzilla-anime.com domain that was registered recently. Contrary to the reports it was not registered by Toho (like godzilla.com or any of the godzilla.jp sites). Instead it was registered to an individual that used a residential apartment (instead of a business) as their contact location.

What is interesting is that it was registered by a Takako Suzuki, who according to IMDB, worked on Witch Hunter Robin, Record of the Lodoss War, and Escaflowne, mostly doing coloring work. So while it may not be Toho related, it may be anime related. Right now my best theory is that this is a fan project.
