Gigan definitely. He is one of the more different monsters. Rodan also is one of my favorites.

There's been enough movies where classic monsters return. I'd rather see something original and fresh. While the MUTOs design was interesting, the monotonous tone of its color scheme brought the aesthetic way down. Maybe I'm just too used to the run-of-the-mill Sentai/Kamen Rider monsters, but something with more variety in color would be fun to see again. A lot of the classic monsters had bright and distinct colors and silhouettes. Let's bring that back but with an original concept. Or even a new take on an unused concept, like someone mentioned earlier.

I'd like to see the monsters they've picked, plus Anguirus. I'm not big on Mothra, but there's no denying her importance to the franchise. Gigan could be cool, and Titanosaurus would be another choice I'd like to see happen.

I'd like to see the return of the Gargantua. Or something similar to Diamajin or Tolos.

How about a monster that haven't got their own movie, yet. Some of them should appear in their own movie before they fought Godzilla in a sequel movie.

Been thinking it over for a while, and I think with Shin Godzilla I don't want to see the return of old kaiju. I'd much rather Toho use their series to introduce new kaiju for a new generation, and just let Legendary update and modernize the classic enemies. We as fans would truly get the best of both worlds. We've seen Toho update the classics multiple times already, and I think the Millennium series ticket sales are proof that shoving Mothra and Ghidrah down our throats does not equal box office success. If they want butts in seats, give them something they've never seen before.

You know, if this film does well enough and Toho decides to make more, I'd like to see Shusuke Kaneko given another shot, and while we're there: why not do his original Godzilla film idea (seemingly inspired by the Jamilla episode of Ultraman) about a tragic kaiju opponent, a mutated astronaut just returned to Earth?
He dropped this idea because he wanted to make his film more of a romp, but with Anno and Higuchi's reboot rooted firmly in horror I think it could make for a sound follow up, thematically.

Here's where we stand right now -
Other - 25
Anguirus - 21
Hedorah - 14
Gigan - 14
Rodan - 13
King Ghidorah - 11
Baragon - 8
Mechagodzilla - 6
Minilla - 3
Mothra - 2
Other has the most votes, so I think I'll update the poll with a fresh batch of monsters to see how that turns out. It'll be interesting to see those results with the big names out of the way.
