Anyway - I really only have two criteria I want satisfied by the new Godzilla design:
1) Looks like Godzilla.
2) Looks cool.
And yes, there is a lot of room for creativity and experimentation in there.

My personal criteria for how Godzilla should look:
1. Standing upright, or mostly upright. I don't expect him to drag his tail on the ground but his stance really is integral to his overall appearance. GINO wouldn't have looked as bad if he stood upright.
2. Dark skin. I would definitely prefer charcoal gray, as it's almost always been, but it could still work even if it was the stereotypical green. It looked good in G2000 because it was a really dark green, but the neon green skin in Megaguirus looked garish and awful.

I'd like to see something akin to the Delgado and/or Stout designs..
Well, with a bit more of the Heisei series G in the face..

The Always 2 CGI Godzilla is a pretty good design, I'd be satisfied with a design like it.
Personally I'd tweak the snout a bit, make it a little more "square" and maybe just a bit longer. (Think Godzilla's head in the Heisei movies) The snout in Always 2 just seems too small and/or rounded to me; I'm not sure the snout needs to be lengthened, "squaring" it off may be enough.
And preferably dorsal plates more like those used in the Showa era movies or in the Heisei movies. I've never quite taken to the crystal-like plates/spines we started seeing with Godzilla 2000

Circa 1998, I just wanted to see Godzilla on the big screen. I was a little surprised by the GINO design, but grew to like it. Then the movie killed it. Now I'm a jaded, bitter fan like the rest of you and I want this to look like the real Godzilla.
