I just want to bring this up, if the franchise works and gives us a trilogy, considering Godzilla's arc of being bad then eventually good (in the Showa vein) I was wondering how people would feel about this:
Godzilla 1: Bad guy Godzilla in a sense he's only fighting to defend HIS turf, not save us from another creature's rampage. Godzilla wins, weary he retreats to the sea amid a barrage of firepower.
Godzilla 2, perhaps one of our old favorite opponents maybe engineered from data culminated from previous monster and G. New advanced weapons developed to hopefully defeat Godzilla, during battle, Godzilla more irritated with other monster than humans, again weary, faces humans who this time do not fire, creature is more than a monster, there is a soul there that is possibly reachable. Godzilla stares, flinches with a curious look as to why we stopped fighting and heads off.
Godzilla 3: Perhaps several baddies including possibly Ghidorah....us humans develop a "Mecha" of some type as a way to control Godzilla, as it appears his appetite for fighting has little to do with humans. Godzilla is getting beat down by multiple monsters, the mecha, designed for containment tries to aid Godzilla as it is realized he is only a threat if we threaten him and our only hope, the mecha is damaged in battle, Godzilla realizes the humans are trying to defend him, and as a last hail mary, they use the reactor energy core from the mecha to hopefully jolt Godzilla and give him what he needs to win the battle.
It's very crude, but I can't think of a moment where humans step in and give him nuclear energy to save him and themselves.
You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!
