All in all, GojiraKnight hits it on the head... MEDIOCRE.
This is shaping up to be Terminator: Salvation (a movie I saw and had to look up the name for, since it was THAT un-memorable.)
I just love the beginning dream sequence with Godzilla in ALWAYS 2, it's the Godzilla film we've all been waiting for (at least in my opinion)... sans the Big Man Japan hair thing at the end of the scene.
And on that note, ALWAYS 2 proved that Godzilla in his traditional incarnation can be scary, menacing and even move relatively quick, despite having been portrayed by clumsy rubber suits all these years. We don't need a full redesign to achieve a more contemporary, menacing monster.
