Search?

Postby jellydonut25 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 2:52 am

Has anyone tried using the search function much lately?

I swear, every time I search for something, it only brings up results from like 2011 or earlier...it doesn't seem to find much if it's recent.

Just as an example, search for "Iron Man" and if your search is working anything like mine, the only posts in the Iron Man 3 thread that will hit will be from 2012, and none from this year. Which is obviously bizarre.

Hmm. I notice it occasionally... but it's never common. It almost always brings back top results.

I said, look for the Iron Man 3 THREAD. Not posts about Iron Man. The Iron Man 3 thread doesn't show up until page 2 of the search results, from a post from 2012.
There are CERTAINLY posts being overlooked in the search somehow. Especially if you actually go to the Iron Man 3 thread, and see that the most recent post is from July 19, and uses the words "Iron Man".

So I'm wondering if there's something in the search options I'm not doing or some way this thing is searching that makes it return half-results.

Hell, search for the Hansel and Gretel movie, and you only get my recent post, and then posts from 2011 or earlier. I feel like I CAN'T be the only person who's seen that movie and posted about it somewhere on the boards.

And, I forget what I was searching for the other day, and it kept coming up with no results, when I knew damn-well there were results.

i have had issues finding specific posts in the Toys threads, which results in me flipping through pages of posts trying to find the one i was looking for. I just figured i was bad at using Search...

Jim Ballard would know better than I, but some posts may have been lost in the transition to the new forums.

I'm still having trouble with search.

For instance searching "Talkback" within Godzilla in Print section, i should get a few hits back but i get no results every time
