Chpt4

The Type-90 tanks and the Greyhound Armored Cars raced down the roads as fast as they could. It was a rainy night as they headed toward the small coastal village. The blanket of darkness and the torrents of rain suppressed their visibility. But they saw in the distance the village and the figure walking from it. It was massive, with two long appendages, and a humongous, bulbous body. It shuffled along past the village and the vehicles stopped.

Malkopkarapa had landed on the mainland and had trampled a village when it came on land. This force of vehicles was supposed to either drive it back to sea or try to kill it. The tanks and the armored cars stopped. Out of the armored cars came men with shoulder-mounted armor-piercing rocket launchers. The tanks were position with the troops. They really planned on showing this kaiju who was really in control as Malkopkarapa wandered towards them. In the rain it looked like a strange fruit with arms and legs or something like that out of a drug induced hallucination. But the creation looked down at what it had seen for about three seconds before the barrage of rockets and shells began.

When the weapons were fired upon it, Malkopkarapa gave a screeching cry of pain/fight/surprise. It wailed and backed up as the weapons blasted pieces of its body off. The creature, in return, belched a cloud of reddish-pinkish spores that descended upon the men. The troops immediately began to fall to the ground and go into violent convulsions. The tanks continued to pelt the fungoid creature with shells that exploded against its flesh. The creature, in anger, slammed one of its arms right into a tank. The mono-digited hand pierced the tanks casing and after the beast ripped it out again, the tank ignited and exploded. The other tanks and armored cars retreated. The beast’s wounds had begun to regenerate with its usual spongy skin. It gave a cry as a warning to the group, while they turned back.

Malkopkarapa began to advance on the vehicles in revenge for the pain they caused it. Then a familiar cry echoed through the night. Malkopkarapa looked and saw a saucer-shaped, spinning disc that had flames shooting out of it. The object touched down and out popped arms, legs, and a head. Gamera had arrived! Both kaiju knew of each or. Gamera looked perplexed to see this kaiju again, while Malkopkarapa cowered a bit in defense. This would be the rematch.

Chpt5

Gamera gave his trumpeting war cry to the fungoid entity. The creature gave its own shrill, squawking battle cry to return the challenge. Malkopkarapa used its primitive digits on its “hands” to grip the flaming tank and hurl it at Gamera. Gamera pulled his head into his shell, ducking the hurtling vehicle. Gamera then lifted his head and spat a tongue of red flame at Malkopkarapa. The flame singed the creature’s body. The beast struggled and cried in pain and shock. It scuttled away from the flames and belched up more of the vile spores it had used before. Gamera had seen this before and blasted the spore cloud. The spores ignited in a burst of flames. Malkopkarapa was shocked and began to retreat. Gamera lifted his legs into his shell and used his jet propulsion to launch himself at the creature.

Malkopkarapa turned to see what was gaining upon it. It used the ridge on its head to serve as a shield when Gamera tackled itself. The ridge collided with Gamera’s shell and cracked the bottom of Gamera’s shell, thus it yielded the turtle’s green blood. Malkopkarapa was knocked flat to the ground, while Gamera crashed on top. Gamera was surprised of it, mostly because of the sharp pain, and cried with agony. The beast under Gamera used its front limbs to push Gamera off onto his back. With its bird-like beak, Malkopkarapa squealed and then spouted a heft amount of the vaporous spores into Gamera’s face. Gamera breathed in the spores while he was bellowing, so the spores would be in diffused into his blood very quickly and in large amounts.

Gamera roared and swatted at the creature above him to no avail. His head began to hurt, his vision blurred, his other senses were slowly fading. Gamera’s mouth was going dry and he felt his body go numb. Soon he left consciousness itself for the realm of shadows. He was still alive, just in a catatonic state.

Malkopkarapa gave a high-pitched squeal of victory and waved its long, lanky limbs around wildly. Then it felt something. As though something was beckoning it, the creature listened closely. With a sort of gentle clucking, the creature responded and set forth west toward what was calling it. For some reason, Malkopkarapa was putting itself in danger. It was going to fight the Favored Daughter of Yig.

Meanwhile…

It was the beginning of night in Bangalore, India. The street vendors were packing up their good to wait for the next day. The small restaurants that were doing business were bustling with tourists because this was the season for tourists. The cows, held sacred by the Hindi, wandered the streets. All of these people were unaware of what horror was to precipitate that evening.

People walked the streets to attend to their own business when a small tremor shook the earth. The people were frightened when this five-second tremor ended. Some shrugged it off as a minor anomaly. Then about three minutes later a larger tremor struck. Cows were frightened and defecated and ran about in the streets, while people started to worry. The tremor ceased in about seven seconds and it felt closer to the surface.
Men and women alike looked for somewhere to take cover if another tremor started. Sure enough, one did begin to rumble. It was the one closest to the surface yet, and it shook the earth. The ground in the center of one of the streets began to rupture. Two horns punctured the ground, and then the soil gave way. The head of a massive serpent rose in the air while its massive hood spread. It gave a hissing roar. Its long, serpentine body pulled itself from the ground to the dismay and horror of onlookers. Its smooth interlocking scales were the size of dinner plates and its protruding fangs were as long as a man is tall. It looked down upon the helpless primates and with a quick strike of its maw, downed several in one gulp. Garasharp was now to terrorize these people as she pleased.

Chpt6

The hotel in New Delhi was rather posh for an Indian motel. The Matsukowas and the two Meyers were the only ones of their group left in India. They stayed behind so they could figure out what had been released upon the world. It had been a week since it appeared in Bangalore and ate several hundred people and leveled several blocks. Peter had been trying to translate some pages of what appeared to be a book that had belonged to the squatter. Three pages that had symbols and glyphs of serpent men and the creature that was on the loose. Shiro and his daughter Pimiko were trying to translate a strange book that had pictograms and strange writing in it. All they found were several prayers to The Favored Daughter of Yig.

Peter Meyers grumbled, “It’s been a week! We should have been able to find some more information on that beast!” Hiroshi stopped sipping on his bottle of Coca Cola and said to Peter, “Mr. Meyers, please, clam down. Gamera will beat that awful snake.” “Gamera?! Gamera was almost killed by a stupid-looking fungus bird type creature! It’s amazing he recovered in two days and disappeared!” blurted Peter Meyers in an irritable state of tension. John looked at his father and asked, “What happened to Malkopkarapa anyway?” “I believe the last time it was said, that weird critter was floating off the coast of China,” answered his father. “Could it be coming here? Perhaps to battle Garasharp,” wondered Pimiko aloud. “Sure! Garasharp would turn that thing into chicken and mushroom soup! If it’s coming here, it must be really stupid,” Peter said cynically.

Shiro shook his head, “It’s happening.” Peter looked at his friend and colleague in confusion, “What do you mean? What’s happening?” “When I was younger I read many strange books, “Shiro said woefully, “One of them was the dreaded Necronomicon.” Peter gave a gasp of shock, “It really exists?” Shiro nodded, Pimiko asked, “Dad what’s the Necorowhaticon?” “Necronomicon, dear. The book of the laws of the dead. A book that talks about demons, gods, and races of civilizations from ages of Earth that have been passed,” Shiro explained to his daughter. “Long ago, I read it and found out the names of vile creatures like Cthulhu, Dagon, Yig, and I stumbled upon the story of Garasharp,” he said while looking at Peter. “What did you find out,” asked John in an excited manner. “I found out the Great Old called Yig fathered Garasharp and she was a goddess amongst the Valusians and the Stygians,” he cleared his throat and continued, “Then the Mi-Go, the fungi of Planet Yuggoth, arrived on Earth for the first time and decided to have a ritual to honor their great god Nyarlathotep,” explained Shiro. Peter exclaimed, “Nyarlathotep?! The demon that the pharaohs worshipped in secretive ceremonies? How did they know of him?” “He came to them. But anyway, before the rite was finished Garasharp destroyed them for trespassing on her land. For this Nyarlathotep cursed her and used a Greater Elder Sign to lock her up. But someday she’d be freed before the others of her kind to wreak vengeance upon life itself because of her spiteful pride,” he said.

Hiroshi cried out, “Aliens, monsters, demons! This is fun!” Shiro scowled at his son who immediately shut up. Peter responded, “This is all hard to believe.” “But it’s happening!” shouted Shiro. Peter nodded and Pimiko was distraught so she decided to turn on the TV. It was the news and it showed that Garasharp had arrived in Bombay and there was live coverage of the beast. Everyone turned to watch the horror be released upon the people of the city.

Meanwhile in Bombay…

Garasharp slithered its way through the slums and shantytowns of cardboard boxes and other items turned into makeshift homes. Its massive coils crushed fleeing people underneath their massive girth. MIG fighter jets fired missiles at the monster snake and they had little or no effect when they harmlessly exploded against its hide. The snake princess of death gave a mighty hiss and sprayed a sickly, yellowish ooze out of from its fangs. This ooze hit one of the MIG’s. The MIG had a hard time righting itself, but it did, but the ooze already had melted the back engine so, it went out of control again before exploding because of the venom’s reaction with the jet fuel. The other jets circled overhead firing with their machine guns upon the creature. Garasharp’s tail rose into the air. It was a long, green whip with a strange oval-shaped growth at the end that had a long spike of bone jutting out of its tip. The tail began to wiggle and it turned out the oval was actually a rattle. The noise began unbearable to newscasters, some TV programs lost their coverage, because the assault of the vibrations upon the glass of the camera or upon the newscasters themselves. The vibrations caused some of the planes to loose control because the vibrations damaged circuitry. For the ones in midair, they were swatted by the serpent’s tail. Garasharp gave its massive hissing call to show its victory over the metal insects that assaulted it.

Shells began to pelt the creature, and then Garasharp noticed tanks and artillery units firing upon it. It made a quick, slithering dash at the main force of these vehicles. It crushed the tanks under its massive coils and it grabbed one tank in its jaws were its fangs pierced the armor plating and venom caused it to melt. Garasharp flung it at another group of tanks, but it exploded in midair. The shrapnel fell upon the other tanks, doing a lot of damage nonetheless. The vehicles fought on with suicidal fanaticism. Garasharp’s tail began to vibrate again, but only in the stinger of bone at the end of the tail. The spike began to glow a strange, eerie blue and it was slammed into the ground like a hypodermic needle. Then the earth shook and shockwaves of blue light ripped through the ground, leveling everything in their path. These waves blasted the remaining vehicles into debris. Then after the last vehicle was decimated, the leviathan decided to pull its weapon from the ground and continue on its rampage.

It eventually came to a shrine and saw people cowering within it. It jaws opened and its mouth salivated with anticipation. It ripped the roof off of the shrine with a single swipe of its tail. It looked down at the frightened Hindis, who were mostly orphaned children, because this shrine was supposed to take care of orphans. It was about to begin its feast when a blast of flame licked the circular dome on the top of its head between its horns. The snake cried out in pain and surprise and turned around to see what creature did this to it. Gamera, the flying turtle, landed and its back feet cushioned his landing when they came out. Gamera bellowed at the enemy. Garasharp was puzzled by this creature, but no matter, it was an interloper and prevented her from feeding. Any act of hostility toward her was punishable by death.

Chpt7

Garasharp gave a hissing call that echoed across the city. Gamera merely gave another roar that was to bring the serpent into battle. Garasharp, pride of Valusia, sprayed from its fangs thick, yellowish grime that struck Gamera’s arm. Gamera bellowed in pain as the venom began to digest his scaly skin. Gamera opened his tusked maw and blasted the demon serpent with a steady stream of fire. The beast writhed in pain and hissed again, and then it dispatched the turtle with a rapid strike from her tail. Gamera fell flat upon his back while he stopped the stream of flame that poured out of his mouth.

Garasharp raised her tail and threw it at the turtle. The stinger landed right in the middle of Gamera’ body. Green blood spewed out of the wound on contact, but then the rattle began to vibrate. It created vibrations that went through Gamera’s body. The shell around the area the singer landed in grew bleached from the cellular damage the vibrations were causing. Gamera foamed at the mouth as his blood was being centrifuged into its plasma and formed material parts. Gamera grabbed the tail and ripped it out from his midsection. His aggressor was surprised. Gamera then with all his might threw the snake into a huddle of buildings. Then the daughter of Yig rose and cried out again. She lowered her head and showed Gamera the dome on top of her head. It began to shine with unholy light that could not be described by that of mortals. A beam erupted from it and slammed into the turtle. The beam’s force caused the super reptile to be thrust into a newly formed crater created by the force. Gamera fell unconscious, and the serpent moved on to continue her raid. Her foe had been vanquished and that’s all that mattered to her.

Meanwhile…

The children of the two scientists were shocked from the television coverage. The spawn of one of the Great Old Ones had defeated Gamera. John seemed like he was about to cry over his hero’s defeat. Hiroshi’s eyes dilated in shock, wheil Pimiko looked on in horror. Shiro shook his head and peter just stood silently. “It is a lost cause, “Shiro said.
All of a sudden, the lights went out. There was the sound of heavy footsteps and struggling. Pimiko’s scream could be heard as her father tried to find her in absolute darkness. Peter was heard to give a loud, “OWWW!” after gunshots were heard, after that not much else was heard. In a few minutes the door slammed again, and soon after Hiroshi opened the blinds. Peter had a gunshot wound in the arm and John and Pimiko were gone. Shiro was absolutely shocked and terrified, but he noticed a note on the ground. He read it and found out it was a ransom note.

The ransom note was from the terrorists who attacked them at the necropolis. They demanded knowledge on how to destroy the “demon snake” in return for the children. They would stop at nothing to destroy this pagan idol that had the breath of life within it. They would meet them in the city suburbs of a town near the Ganges in three days to make the transfer. If they did not arrive at the appropriate time at the appropriate place Pimiko and John would be killed.

Shiro gave a cry of extreme rage, “Peter! We have to do something!” “Yeah I know,” cried the scientist as he grabbed his arm. Shiro looked at the crimson-oozing wound and responded, “Peter, let me help you.” Shiro looked in his suitcase for a first aid kit, while Hiroshi cried because of the absence of his sister and the fear that came from that experience. They had to do something, but they did not know anything on how to defeat Garasharp.

Chpt8

The demon serpent traversed the countryside in the shimmering moonlight. It wrought destruction in its wake and ended the miserable lives of many people. The Indian military was a minor annoyance. The Indian government had been thinking of using their atomic bombs on the beast, but the issue was still being debated on. Cattle, sheep, and other livestock were devoured or flattened by the agent of destruction. Total and utter carnage was the only thing it brought with it. But soon, another challenger was to oppose it.

The beast came toward a rock quarry and sensed something amiss. A strange entity was watching it, planning to strike at it, the kaiju sensed. Garasharp reared back upon its belly and expelled a cry of challenge to the foolhardy being that sought battle with its being. Only silence answered. The creature could have sworn that it sensed a living entity in the vicinity. Its tongue probed the air for chemicals that would betray its source. The tongue detected trace amounts of a fungal taste like that of the Mi-Go. Then Malkopkarapa sprang from its hiding place under the quarry’s stones. It slammed its head into Garasharp’s gut from underneath it. Garasharp gave a surprised hissing cry that exhibited its awe of being outsmarted by this lowly fungoid entity.

Malkopkarapa towered over the lesser Great Old One as she lay flat on her back. The leviathan struck at the beast from Yuggoth with its elongated fangs. The fangs bore down into Malkopkarapa’s flesh. The fungus creature gave a short-lived squeal as Garasharp wrapped its coiled body around it. Malkopkarapa tried to break free, but to no avail. Garasharp pumped millions of gallons of its accursed venom into the hapless creature. But, Malkopkarapa was immune to the serpent’s venom. Then it blew a spore-filled gust of heated air from its beak. The spores irritated Garasharp’s skin and burned her eyes and tongue. The serpent could take no more, it released it grip and slithered off away from the fungus from Yuggoth. The rotund aggressor flung the sharp tips of its fingers forward with its long, skinny arms at Garasharp. The serpent dodged by rolling its coils out of the way of the enlongated melee weapons. Then Garasharp used the vibrations of its tail to fend off Malkopkarapa as it tried to follow it. The daughter of Yig then disappeared into the earth as it slammed itself into the ground, creating a hole for itself with its horns and the dome on its anterior end between the horns. Malkopkarapa could not pursue its enemy, but it would not top until revenge was enacted for its fallen kind.

Meanwhile…

A nuclear power plant in one area of India experienced problems with cooling the reactor. Poor conditions and unsustainably of the machines caused the situation to deteriorate even further. The core was going to go into meltdown. The staff was already being evacuated and some workers worked desperately to prevent the destruction of the plant, for it would release powerful radiation that would kill million in the surrounding area.

Sirens blared as the reactor was on its final legs before the meltdown. Then as all hope was about to be lost, Gamera arrived on the scene. The reactor core started to heat up and melt the interior of the plant as radiation levels on the exterior of the plant began to increase as the energy ate through the plant’s structure. The plant was doomed and the power was going to culminate into a blast. Gamera stood firm and tried to absorb as much radiation as possible, so to try and save the people from certain doom. Then it happened-the core erupted into an uncontrollable blast that created a ball of white light that consume the area around it and Gamera.

The amount of energy was awesome. Gamera’ cells tried to take in as much energy as possible. His own energy was being used up to do this though. The radiation began to change Gamera. To deal with the change, Gamer used up even more energy. His body grew bigger and it dwarfed his head. His neck grew thick and muscular as his head became smaller, but not that very small. Gills jutted out from the sides of his face, probably due to some genetic material that was reawakened from the radiation. His arms lengthened and spikes shot out of the side of his elbows. His shell became jagged at the edges and his legs became big and bulky. His tail became a thick, muscular appendage that was a long as half of his arm. He was not just Gamera, he was now a super Gamera.
But just taking in the energy and changing taxed his strength. He pulled his huge back legs into his larger, greener shell and then two blasts of flame shot out of the back of the shell. This launched him into the air, Gamera was going to sleep to regain his strength.
