CHAPTER TWO
In the 22nd year of King John III of Portugal’s reign a royal trading ship was blown off its course and landed on the southern edge of a strange land known as Cipango but never before visited by the Portuguese. Kyushu was the name of the area in which the Portuguese landed belonged to a much larger kingdom which soon came to be known as Japan to all the European nations. However, little did anyone that day know but that was the beginning of an era that would be called by this lands local people as the “Nanban-boeki-jidaiâ€
