Wow! A response to something I've done? Cy, you are truly a god among men!
Since you probably haven't read the previous stories in this series (which were all much shorter and subpar by comparison), here's a timeline:
1954. Godzilla '54 happens.
1984. Godzilla reappears and is trapped in Mt. Mihara.
20XX. Earth Destruction Directive: Kaiju Daisenso -- Saradian terrorists unite with the underground kingdom of Seatopia to dominate the Earth. The Seatopians send out their god Megalon to destroy all human civilization, and the the Saradians detonate an atomic bomb on Mt. Mihara (with the intent to let Godzilla loose, after which he will help Megalon destroy the Earth's civilizations), freeing Godzilla and making him much larger and more powerful. When he and Megalon meet, they fight instead of aiding one another in the destruction. The Saradians' atomic bomb tests have wiped out Lagos Island and mutated a surviving dinosaur into Angilas and destroyed most of Infant Island, where Mothra is the god. Together, Mothra and Angilas fight Megalon, inadverantly teaming with Godzilla. The Seatopians call for aid from alien allies, who send Gigan and King Ghidorah, but Godzilla, Mothra, and Angilas win the battle. Mothra (still a larva) spins her cocoon to grow into an adult.
20XX (Several weeks after the events of the previous entry). Unrelenting Struggle: Mothra vs. Godzilla -- Mothra emerges from her cocoon in adult form and returns to Infant Island. Upon returning, she discovers that Saradia has tested another atomic bomb on her island, destroying or mutating almost all of its inhabitants. In the Pacific Ocean, Godzilla surfaces and destroys a freighter. He easily defeats a Japan-U.S. joint naval strike and does battle with Angilas on Oshima Island. This fight allows time for a maser battallion to be sent to Tokyo Harbor which Godzilla pushes through with some difficulty. Other countermeasures are discussed, including a super-weapon, a project which goes forward but cannot be finished in time. Despite being angry with the outside world for destroying her home, Mothra comes to its aid and ultimately defeats Godzilla at the cost of her own life. Her essence returns to Infant Island and reincarnates as an egg, where her life cycle begins anew. There is no sign of Godzilla. He has *apparently* been completely destroyed.
20XX (Approximately two years after the events of the previous entry). Bio-Kaiju No Daikessen -- While the events in the first story are still going on, the last Godzillasaurus dies of severe mutation on Lagos Island and is secretly obtained by the Saradian bio-terrorist agency BioMajor. Members of the organization kill everyone aboard a ship carrying diplomats from Japan to Saradia (with hopes of establishing peace; rumors of the Saradian government supports BioMajor have shaken the already iffy peace agreement between the two countries) using grenades filled with Virus X (save one survivor who lived because of an adrenaline rush--adrenaline is the counteractant to the virus). The survivor is found by a group of Japanese scientists and taken back, where it is discovered how he survived. At BioMajor HQ, a slip-up with the Godzilla cells warrants a total evacuation of the complex, save for the one scientist who made the error and is already contaminated. The others release their two monsters, Hedorah and BioGigan, before leaving for the secondary base in Mongolia. Disgusted, the scientist exacts revenge on the others by using dead skin cells from the Godzillasaurus and the live Godzilla cells, creating a new Godzilla which heads over land toward Japan, his instinctive territory. During his journey, he inadvertantly destroys the secondary BioMajor base. Soon after BioGigan and Hedorah arrive in Tokyo, Angilas and Mothra arrive and take out BioGigan. Unable to match up to Hedorah, Angilas doggedly fights on while Mothra spins her cocoon, her body being negatively affected by Virus X. Hedorah eventually knocks Angilas unconscious, but before he can continue with the destruction of Tokyo, Godzilla arrives. With the help of the rain, Hedorah is able to regenerate his body and prove to be an even match for Godzilla. However, Mothra releases a mystical force from her cocoon that stops the rain and gives Godzilla the edge he needs to destroy Hedorah.
The whopper which will soon be completed starts shortly after that last story.
Thanks for your interest, Cy. I can't thank you enough. I am in your debt.
