Again, I'm supportive but its a numbers thing. It'd probably just be you, klein and I and maybe the odd straggler that ventures into this sub forum which is a shame because the polls were fun and I discovered a lot of fun films through them

with kong PR and godzilla king of the monsters on the way i think it would be a grea time to bring back the polls,so who's game?

I'm game if i have access to the films, but activity across the whole forum seems to have slowed down a bit, so I think our chances of success have slimmed even more :-/

Yeah, its no fun when its only 2-3 people doing it. Facebook has really killed forums :/

Also let's start from scratch so that way we have a bigger pool of movies to grab from, ie godzilla and gamers films are back on the table.

maybe we could do something that crosses over to other sections of the forum? like pick movies that already have a "spotlight" thread, that might encourage more activity... although it would limit the selection

bring this back once again, pacific rim out in March and godzilla next year could be a good time to bring the polls back.

I can get behind something like this however, while I love MST3k I would hope to eventually expand beyond that series.

Hmmmm... I might be down for this. I've got access to almost every single MST3K episode ever, after all.


But, you know, I never participated in the old polls and I'm kinda sad about that. I love the idea of having a regular or semi-regular movie club laser-focused on kaiju, and steering clear of the outrageously obscure. I actually have the germ of an idea about a 'kaiju movie klub' which would select a few (let's say three as baseline) movies each month that would be thematically connected and discussed together.

Here's an example: three American Godzilla films with Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1954), Godzilla (1998), and Godzilla (2014).

Maybe go all-out one month and do all the films from the year of the 'kaiju boom.'

Weigh the two stock footage showcases of All-Monsters Attack and Gamera Supermonster against one another.

The connections between the films could could be profound or small, serious and wanting further discussion or jokey.
