I adore this film. It has some superbly obvious cheese, the German scientist, but so much of this appeals to me.The notion that Frankenstein's monster's heart wouldn't stop beating, and that eating it, once irradiated, could mutate a child into a hulking monster is something that, on its own, is supremely appealing. Then you throw in the fact that it's happening in a world that giant monsters just happen to inhabit and it gets better.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! It's Ishiro Honda scored by Akira Ifukube with effects Eiji Tsuburaya.
We also got Kumi Mizuno and Nick Adams.
I adore this film so much. It's one of my favorite Toho films (Probably number 5 if I had to rank them, and it's definitely my favorite "Frankenstein" film.
This movie rocks, and I'll go a step further and say that it's superior to what seems like the fan-favorite follow up.
