Okay, The Secret of the Telegian! Finally! I watched this two nights ago. My copy was pretty crappy, but the sound was decent. I had the popcorn popped, threw on some white cheddar seasoning, and sat down to watch.
Good flick. I can't help but compare this to The Human Vapor which we just watched in a recent viewing poll though, and I have to admit that I enjoyed that more than this. Human Vapor had a great villian, intricate relationships between the Vapor and the object of his affection, and between the cop and the reporter. This just felt a little lacking in the interesting character department and watching the characters interact here wasn't as fun as there. The villian here just isn't as thrilling to watch once you know his schtick either. It's a good flick though! The memory of The Human Vapor is just too fresh on my brain, I think.
Was there a mention that the Telegian was powered by the volcano? I must have missed that, but it seemed to be what they were impying in the last scene.
This scene caught me by suprise, and they make sure you notice too.
<Goldmember>I love gollllllllllllllD! </Goldmember>.
And this scene was especially good, because of how its played out like a ghost haunting those who killed him.
edit: Just re-read MekaGojira3k's post about the movie upthread, and I feel like I've re-iterated what he said.
