Hello all..
-Just letting you know that I saw a advertisement at G-Fest for a mini movie marathon scheduled for Augst 27th!.. and it's acutally pretty close to where G-Fest was held this year in Rosemont!
4 movies will be shown(first two may be the only interest for us here) from 1pm till about 9pm at the Portage Theater on 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago.
Movies being shown:
War of the Monsters- 1pm
King Kong Escapes - 3pm
The Monster of Piedras Blancas- 5pm
Flash Gordan- 7pm
Not sure what language will be shown for the Gamera and King Kong film.. but I'll try and find out for us all. Also, advertisement says they'll be selling "collectables & Rare Monster Items in the Lobby!!!".
Looks like my wife and I will be heading back to Chicago (staying at the Motel 6 near by) again next month. We'll be staying just the night though... no major vacation this time!

Hmm, interesting. I'm not too far away, so if the Gamera and Kong flick are subs, I'd probably go.
Let us know what you find out when you do!

A theatrical screening of KING KONG ESCAPES would have to be booked from Universal, and Universal doesn't have materials for the Japanese version. So that rules out the Portage showing the film subtitled unless they were going to project a fan subbed DVD-R. I would imagine most theaters would not go that route.
