Xbox Scarlett release update: Console price

I'm really looking forward to the next Xbox as well as the PS5. One of my biggest feature requests is that current gen games get even more updates to take advantage of the increased hardware that Scarlett and the PS5 will offer. We know that both systems will be BC compatible with Xbox One and PS4 titles, so hopefully these games get updates to improve them even more.

As for price I expect both to be around $400-$500 leaning more toward the $500 mark since the X did so well at that price. I'm also curious to see what they'll do for a mid generation refresh.

Xbox Project Scarlett got a formal reveal at the game awards tonight. Its now called Xbox Series X. I kind of like the name but the design they showed off is kind of terrible. It looks like a building. The controller looks identical to the current Xbox One controller, I'm guessing the only difference will be that it has haptic feedback and a USB C charger.

It just looked like a really stylish gaming PC tower that's not as long as a standard PC. To be honest, that's what the current gen consoles are, just gaming rigs in vanity boxes with proprietary software. Unlike stuff like the cell processor in the PS3 that made emulating game a nightmare/impossible and was the main excuse I heard as to why Red Dead Redemption never made it to PC. At least it looks like it still reads discs, I was weary of them going all digital since they did make that all digital Xbox One S. Although I could have sworn some talk about Scarlett from some time ago was about it being a console that wouldn't need a successor and people speculated that meant that it would be built so that the hardware could be upgraded, making it even more like a PC.

Is Microsoft trying to outdo Nintendo with redundant console names? I can easily see a bunch of kid disappointed to find Xbox One Xs under their Christmas trees come Christmas 2020. And I'm sure the name is getting shortened to XboxSeX already. XboxSeX, the new XBOne.

Regardless, I can't wait to see what games the make for it. Hopefully none of the games share the fate of Scalebound this time. That game looked cool.

Microsoft sucks ass when it comes to naming their consoles. What is wrong with just calling it the X-Box Two?

Xv MS already confirmed that they want to start focusing on turning the Xbox into a service rather than a system. There goal is to turn the Xbox into essentially PC gaming, in the fact that you can play a PC game from 20 years ago still today. Well in a sense you can you just have to do some minor tweaking is all. Sony as well as Nintendo are the only ones who still want traditional console generations.
