Yeah.... until they can prove they aren't going to just be The Stomping Lands 2.0, I'm going to temper my excitement to just casually keeping an eye on this game.

Too few Early Access games actually release and even then they can release with out all the promised items *cough*DoubleFine*cough*.

Looks interesting hopefully like XvGojira said it comes out and isn't one that just gets pushed back or dies out. I noticed that it's coming on all next gen platforms I hope that if it does indeed come out it's free to play.

I got this game on Ps4 this December and here's some information and a review for the Early Access version of the game....

WHAT IS ARK? Ark is an MMO RPG, that lets players control a survivor (male or Female) in a dangerous but beautiful Island. You start out the game alone and without food or shelter, and must learn to make fire, forage for food and build a shelter to survive the elements and Dinosaurs. Dinos are what sets this game apart in that not only are there a huge selection of Dinosaurs but all can be tamed and almost all can be equipped with a saddle and rode into battle.

MODES AND FEATURES...(As of Jan 2017) Ark modes are as followed... Single player-Survive by yourself against the elements and dinos. This mode also allows you to edit a good deal of stuff, like how long the day and night cycle is or how fast you can rank up, its a good place for new players to start to get familiar with the game and all of its game mechanics.
PvE - Player vs. Environment is another game mod, this is played online, with other players, however player against player is disabled. Players can join a tribe or go out on their own, the choice is yours.
PvP - Player vs. Player Is the main feature of the game, in this players can fight and kill each other along with their tamed dinosaurs. It is highly recommended you join a tribe as trying to survive on your own is suicide.

Pros of ARK - Huge maps and Lush environments - There are 3 maps to choose from The Island (first map created for the Game), The Center (map with large bodies of water with various land masses in the middle), and Scorched Earth (a Desert map where water is almost non existent and new creatures are found)

Dinosaurs - What can I say, almost every kid's dream of taming and riding dinosaurs is this game's biggest selling point, I have to say though the first time you tame and then ride a T-Rex you feel almost invincible.

Crafting and customization - lots of stuff to build and make as well as a fair amount of things that you can customize.

Addicting gameplay - this game can have you playing for hours just exploring the world or finding resouces to build that Brontosaurus Saddle. Also just to note the Taming itself can take up hours of your time.

Cons:
Early Access Bugs- Considering that its still being developed it is far from a finished game, sometimes the updates themselves crash the game.

Price is for a full game -the game of PSN is $55 which is almost the same price as a full game release.

Uncertain Future- the game has been in early access for over a year now and the devs are still rolling out updates and adding new content monthly. Unfortunately there are no real answers yet as to when the offical release is to come. Also there have been rumors circulating that the devs will have to do server wipes on PvE and PvE servers for the offical release (meaning all your hard work for the last year is gone).

Overall I dont regret getting the game and I have been having so much fun playing. However since its still in early access and there are issues to be ironed out, I dont not recommend it for everyone especially since the price is almost the equivalent to a full release game. This is a game you get if you have the spare money and time. But in all honesty just wait till it comes out officially.

I've been playing this on Xbox One since it released in early access in December 2015. I really enjoy it and can't wait for the full game to come out which I think is April time. They're supposed to be adding in play anywhere support soon. For those who got the Xbox One version and have a Windows 10 PC which will mean PC hosted servers.
