Yeah they showed bits of it during the opening of the Sony conference last night, so hopefully we'll get some footage from the show floor in the next couple of days.

And speaking of: new trailer (or mostly new) showing Anguirus and Rodan in action (and yep, it looks like Godzilla '64 will indeed be an unlockable, pre-order or not)!

I like that the whites of Anguirus' eyes are very clearly visible in the actual game. In that Famitsu image his eyes looked almost completely black, but it was clearly just the angle they took the picture from, because you can easily see the whites of his eyes in those videos as you could in the films, which was one of the things that helped make him so sympathetic imo.

Kinda cool that roaring will actually have a strategic, attacking benefit, rather than just being something you can do to mock your opponent or to look cool. And I've also read that you can control direction of the various beams with the PS4 touchpad, which could be cool too, so long as it controls well.

Digital pre order bonus. I wonder how many fans are gonna pre order digitally and get the license to the game (ie. not own it) just for a pose. lol

I would assume there's some other way to get that pose in game, but the pre-order just unlocks it.

But yeah, especially with the Akrham Knight PC port stuff going on it bare repeating NEVER PRE-ORDER GAMES.

I have a copy preordered at Best Buy since a. I get 20% off of it and 2. if I didn't preorder it I wouldn't have gotten it on launch day unless I drove an hour away to a town that's full of crime.

Im kinda hoping that this game has some downloadable content at some point. Like new city maps or monsters. (Wouldn't mind seeing Megalon or Titanosaurus later on)

So what's the best way to preorder this game to get the bonus content? The physical copy at my local GameStop or the digital copy on the PS4?

I guess it depends on whether you prefer buying digital or physical, and/or whether or not the digital version includes the pre-order bonuses of the physical version, in which case it'd just be down to personal preference which stuff you wanted the most. It looks like they're all going to be early unlocks rather than exclusive DLC though anyway, so I'm sure you'll be able to get everything eventually regardless of where and how you buy it.

Alas, in this interview with the game's producer he confirms that they don't have any current plans for post-launch DLC (3:09), which was always the most likely outcome given that this is a budget title. But who knows, maybe the sales will end up being good enough that that might change. I'd certainly be willing to buy any new monsters or stages they might add (a Planet X stage would be awesome, as would a Red Bamboo half base/half ocean stage). I'm just glad they made all these excellent additions and upgrades to the PS4 version, rather than simply releasing a port of the PS3 version with slightly better graphics, which is what I figured they'd be doing originally.

New pre-order bonus for the diorama mode. Looking at the replies to people asking about it on the game's official Facebook and Twitter feed, it seems like it's for all versions of the game (though again, it looks like all pre-order bonuses are just early unlocks for thing that are already in the game anyway):

Pre-ordering the Digital Copy of Godzilla (PS4) also gives the person an automatic download of the Godzilla Dynamic Theme for PS4. Godzilla in the background is seen roaring and shooting his trademark Atomic Fire at a Helicopter and he also strikes another helicopter down, it also has the theme music of the game. However as of this posting it is unknown if this exclusive theme will be available on the PS Network as a separate purchase, so for now it's an exclusive theme for the Digital copy only.

Oooh, a cool new pre-order diorama model/pose that I don't think they've shown off before! I figured there'd just be the ones visible on the game's Japanese website, but then I guess the King Ghidorah one wasn't on there either. Anyway, apparently this is the last of the diorama pre-order bonuses:

It's not out until the 17th here in the UK so I wouldn't be able to play on the first night it was available in the US, but I might be down for it sometime afterwards.
