Before this topic turns into a political topic I'll get it back on subject.

My brother in law made a comment to me recently that with all the recent delays he thinks that Xbox One has the better launch lineup not counting third party titles, me personally for games I'm interested in PS4 and XOne are tied. PS4 has Knack and Killzone where as Xbox has Ryse and DR3 and DR3 is a big maybe since I'm kind of burnt out on zombies as a whole.

I don't see any appeal in Ryse at all. If I wanted to play a QTE fest, I can replay Resident Bayvil 6.

Knack looks cute and creative and Dead Rising 3 is just another zombie game. Plus, I wonder how much of the game Ca$hcom will actually give you before you have to pay for the rest of it as DLC.

Alright peeps, I need some suggestions here...

I am considering getting either and PS4 or XBOX. I haven't really been in the gaming world outside of my PC for the past few years. I have a 360 already, but no Blu Ray player yet. I'm trying to think of this purchase in terms of which system has more to offer overall. I currently lean towards a PS4.

PS4 is just the better system all around. There is no worry about Sony making the machine online only in about 2-3 years and making it so you have to play with the Eye. They aren't showing up at conventions with different advertising agencies that buy information on its users. Plus, they have the superior first party companies like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studios, Suckerpunch, Media Molecule, etc. Controllers do not require double A batteries as they have a built in rechargeable battery. You only need PS+ if you want to play non-F2P games online, not for Netflix or any other service. Plus, they give you a server to back up your data on. OH, and it is $100 cheaper.

It's really up to what games you want to play; both systems are equal in terms of power IMO and each has a set of exclusives that will make them must own. Personally I'm going with a Xbox One first then getting the PS4. Also I'd take Kain's post with a grain of salt he's shown quite a bit of biased toward Sony as evident in that last post.

If I where you Hybrid Gojira I'd research what each system has to offer then make your decision from there. Yes MS had a bunch of crappy policies in place originally but they've changed that quite a bit since the system was annouced.

I'm sorry dude, I just cannot back a company that wanted to DRM the hell out of their system. YOu might think because they did not do it it is okay, but I do not. MS needs to earn my trust back before I buy another of their game systems.

I agree it was bad move treating the Xbox One like a PC but at least they reveresed the policies. Plus Sony has done some pretty bad stuff too. When the PS3 launched and it's price was annouced the CEO people to get a second job because people where complaining about how expensive it was.

The point I'm getting at is every company has made mistakes and has said or will say something to piss off it's customers.

Oh I agree, Sony did some very stupid things at the beginning of this gen as they got really cocky since they dominated the PS2 era. However, they made up for it ten fold and they have proven they have first party software that lasts an entire generation as opposed to MS who had great games in the 360's first 2-3 years and then just stopped bringing out non-gimmicky crap.

I think the main thing though is MS tried to avoid talking about their policies when they had two big press conferences where they could have been straight forward with what they wanted to do and what the advantages of it were. Instead, they tried to hide it and talk about it as little as possible, which is what really made me mad. To be honest though, I also think reversing their policies makes them look even worse because it just shows they have no confidence in their product. If they had been open and honest about it, sell it to the consumer, they could have sold a lot of people on it.

Well apparently a lot of people did get sold on it once the policy reversal started because preorders are sold out but lets not drag this into a PS4 vs X1 topic.

All I know is that unless I get one of the new consoles free, I'm not picking either one up for at least a year. I'm letting both sides shake out their bugs and hopefully get a decent line up of exclusively next gen games.

I'm getting both consoles. I want to play Infamous Second Son on PS4 and Dead Rising 3 on the Xbone. I'll get the extended warranties on them to cover any issues and call it a day.

Sony confirmed that the PS4 won't that's WON'T support audio CDs, MP3s and DNLA streaming. DNLA streaming is the ability to stream something off your PC to a compatiable device. Basically what the PS3 can do now.

However they (Sony) said that they may look into a soultion for this at a future date. Also the PS4 won't support external Hard Drives.

I'm not surprised since the PS3 doesn't do any of those either.

Or wait, the streaming thing might actually be what my friend uses to go from his computer hard drive with all of his anime downloads and watch them on the PS3 on the tv. If that is the case, the freaking sucks. Why would they get rid of that?

The PS3 does ALL those things now. Hell you've even talked about streaming stuff to your PS3 Kain.

I have no idea why Sony got rid of the feature hopefully they add it back in in an update.

The PS3 doesn't play CDs. And actually, I never got anything to stream on my PS3. I tried but failed and now that I own a laptop with HDMI, I just plug my files in that way.

A with less than a week to go, I'm still on the fence about getting this. My Amazon Prime will inform me as soon as they're available to order, but I'm wondering if I should just wait until at least next Spring.

I just told the manager at my Gamestop that I will be passing on this round for the console, but am going to keep my payment in the system so I don't have to worry about it later. If it could play GTAV, I probably would still have gotten it now instead of Feb.

We got our PS4s in today at Walmart and the box looks kind of nice. They're in the management office until Thursday at midnight.

The box looks like a larger Vita box.

Sony has confirmed that the PS4 will get MP3, CD and DLNA streaming support post launch in a patch but they also confirmed that the system doesn't support 3D Blu-rays which is odd considering the PS3 did that. I know it only affects a small number of people but still kind of upsetting.
