So I picked up a second controller as I got sick of my controller dying in the middle of the day and having to hunch over to have it plugged in. I do not know why, but I am lucky to get a full day with these controllers whereas I can do 3-4 days before having a PS3 controller die on me. I was hoping to just wait until additional colors came out as I like to only have one color, but it isn't going to happen. For all I know, it could be next year before they do additional colors.

Wouldn't a simple cable have been cheaper? You can get like a 25 foot cable for about $10 on amazon.

Since I was going to get one anyway, nope.

Broke down and bought a PS4 tonight because I probably won't be at my job in December when I get the huge discount and if I am I'd rather spend that on groceries and other things than a video game system. It should be in friday or monday. Also got inFamous Second Son with it.

PS4 came in today wasn't expecting it till Monday. Got it all set up but for some reason I can't download Outlast which I added to my cart online when the game was free on PSN for PS + subscribers.

I almost bought a PS4, but the inability to play older PS games really kills it for me. There aren't enough games out right now that I want to play.

PS4 has been pretty disappointing to be honest. I got it mainly because I didn't want to play Destiny alone on XB1 but aside from that as a system its pretty weak.
No 5ghz wifi capability but its not like that matters since the PS4 only uses a 1/4 of your connection speed when directly connected anyway.

Can't disable notifications when watching netflix or blu rays like you can with xb1, the controller battery life is pretty terrible due to its useless giant battery sucking light bar.

Only real positives I'd give the system is its DTS HD MA 7.1 audio output, its a better blu ray player and the PS4 gold headset is godlike.

Everytime I think about geting a new system, I realize there just aren't baby games I want to play, except the new Final Fantasy and Zelda (whenever they're released). I also want to play DB Xenoverse if only because I miss that series but the games haven't been that great.

I'm starting to toy with the idea of buying a PS4. What prompted the thought is that there's 2 Dynasty Warriors games on it now that I'd like to have, and I know that's a pretty weak reason because they're not much upgraded from their last-gen versions apart from the XL content bundles. I'm a Warriors junky. Then there's the upcoming Batman game too. Also, I see that 3d support was finally added, so I can use it as a primary bluray player then. I never did buy many PS3 games. The only one I'd miss is Way of the Samurai 4.

So with that thought on the mind I went to look what was up with the backwards compatibility because I remember a whiles back they were talking about supporting the PS1 and PS2. Yes, I typed that correctly. I'm a little disappointed that it seems that whatever b/w compatibility this has, or any future console will have, is most likely going to be a streaming pay service. It seems like this may be where gaming in general is headed.

After hearing that MGSV will also be released for PC, my want for a PS4 heavily dwindled. I may pick one up eventually, if enough exclusives that interest me come out for it, but as it stands I'm fine being a PC/Nintendo guy.

As for the backwards compatibility/streaming thing, I think that could be a great thing but it needs to be priced right. Last I heard the beta testing was priced 2 or 4 bucks for an hour or two (or something of the like) with three or four more tiers. Which seems pretty high to me. I think an option to "purchase" the games would ease a lot of complaints, but that wouldn't give them as much money compared to only allowing people to rent them.

Rap, you couldn't disable the notifications on the PS3 either, so I don't see that as a big deal.

Anyway, The Last of Us Remastered is amazing. Tomb Raider Definitive is amazing. GTAV Remastered is going to be amazing as well. Then next year we will have the big next gen stuff like Batman Arkham Knight, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Witcher III, The Order 1886, and who knows what else.

As for Metal Gear and Final Fantasy, honestly, I'm over those series. FF hasn't had a good game since 1999 and Metal Gear Solid was fine with being done with Peace Walker. Now Kojima is just rewriting his own history instead of making new games because Metal Gear is all he knows how to do. Why not do Zone of the Enders 3, another BOktai, or a new Policenauts?

Right now my PS4 is collecting dust, probably won't get play time until Febuary when Bloodborne and The Order come out both of those look amazing to me.

This year belongs to the XboxOne for me and next year is shaping up to be the PS4. Speaking of PS4 when's that Deep Down game supposed to come out? That one looked really interesting.

My PS4 will be getting played with either Alien Isolation or The Evil Within (whichever gets better reviews), and then Far Cry 4 and GTAV come out in Nov. I'll also possibly get for Xmas Assassin's Creed Unity as I want to scale Chartres Cathedral. Those will keep me busy for quite some time, especially GTA.

The only game in the entire X1 line up that I have any interest in is Sunset Overdrive. Nothing else that has been shown off at all looks even remotely interesting to me.

I'll agree with that. Just for the sheer color palate alone it seemed interesting, compared to everything else's drab browns and grays and over saturation. I, for the most part, like the looks of games that had more of a stylized look than trying their best to be photo-realistic. Not that the realism can't look good, because even on the PS3 The Last of Us was amazing and I'm sure what ever Naughty Dog has up their sleeve for the PS4 will be more so, but stylized graphics have a bit more visual longevity to me.

I haven't owned a playstation since PS1 (I HATE Sony as a company) so it carrying over limitations from ps3 to ps4 does nothing but discourage me further that this system will do nothing but collect dust once I'm done with Destiny. Last of Us is really the only game thats exclusive but even then its not NEW. Destiny, TR:DE, GTAV and B:AK are all multi-platform so nothing to really get excited about as of now although The Order 1886 has caught my eye. I ordered MKX, Killer Instinct Season 2, Alien Isolation, and Master Chief collection for Xb1 but did chose B:Ak on Ps4 due to its exclusive scarecrow content.

I see a ton of potential for the Xb1 as a system but can't say the same for Ps4. Once the dashboard update for Xb1 drops in October, ps4 will lose its user friendly dashboard navigation advantage as well. It is nice to be video game agnostic for the first time in almost 20 years though.

I am the exact opposite. I just can't see there being any X-Box games I will want to play after 2016 because that is how it has been with the last two MS systems. With the XBOX, nothing good came out after Ninja Gaiden. With the 360, Gears of War 2 was their last good game.

With the PS2 we got God of War, God of War II, Persona 3, Persona 4, and Final Fantasy XII when the system's life span was pretty much over. With the PS3, we still got The Last of Us and Ni No Kuni even when that console was done as well. Not to mention all of the top notch first party titles I have gotten during the high points of the console's life. Sony has always provided me with more than any other company.

Picked up a PS4 today. Is there a way to turn off the line of light on the console itself? Its currently the brightest device underneath my tv, and that kind of irks me.

PS4: yes. Funny story, last year i got mine at launch because my car's insurance company was giving away PS4s plus Knack for a two-year full plan (competitive price btw). As i play with my PS3 more, the only games i have are Knack (duh!), The last of Us remastered and Onechanbara Z2 Chaos , now waiting for Ultra Street Fighter 4, Earth Defense Force 4.1 and Godzilla! And of course Street Fighter V and The Last Guardian (c'mon, let's pray is not a PS5 launch title)

PS4 is defiently going to be getting a lot more play next year from me. The Order in Febuary, Bloodborne in March, Godzilla in the summer, then there's Uncharted 4 and rumor has it we'll be getting another Uncharted Collection for the PS4 similar Halo Master Chief collection.

I really can't think of any Xbox One games coming out next year besides Evolve that I'll be getting.

Does the snow affect the driving in the game or is it purely an aesthetic feature?
