As most of you probably know already, both Sony and Microsoft are preparing to launch their next gen gaming consoles. If Sony first announced details about the PlayStation 4 at the end of February, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One only several days ago.
Unfortunately, Sony and Microsoft did not unveil every detail we would have liked to know about their upcoming gaming rigs, and probably the most important info the two giants are still keeping secret are the release dates of the aforementioned devices.
Even though general consensus is that both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One will become available towards the end of 2013 (with rumors pointing towards an October release date for both), at the beginning of May there were several voices claiming that Sony is way behind schedule and that the PS4 release date might slip into 2014, at least in certain regions. Fortunately, it looks like the Japanese manufacturer has managed to overcome whatever issues it had encountered. Take a look at the snapshot below and join us after the break.

PlayStation 4 / PS4 Release Date: Still On Track
As i am writing this article, the 2013 European Champions League Final is in full swing and Bayern Munchen has just scored the first goal of the match. For those of you not up to date with today’s big event (I’m looking at our US based friends right now), the European Champions League is all about soccer, and tonight two German teams are clashing in the final leg, in London – Bayern Munchen and Borussia Dortmund.
Back to the matter at hand, Sony has probably figured it’s the right time to tell the tens of millions of soccer fans watching tonight’s game that the PS4 will be launched this year. NOTE: Dortmund has just scored the equalizer.
What this means is that he PlayStation 4 will definitely arrive on store shelves this year, at least in the major markets. Judging by Sony’s advertising, the PS4 will arrive this year at least in UK, if not in the whole Europe. Therefore Japan will also get it in 2013 (known being the fact that Sony first launches every new PS in its homeland) and probably US and Canada will follow suit as the North American market is too important to get the new PlayStation after the Europe market does.
Well, that’s it for now, back to the game.
Sony made the gaming world very happy by announcing that the PS4 will have no restrictions on used games, no DRM and no Internet connection requirements.
The announcement, made by a Sony executive during the company's E3 2013 event, made the crowd erupt into thunderous applause. The Sony executive even took a swipe at Microsoft by saying that the PS4 won't require the console to check in once per day, like the Xbox One does.
Considering that the Xbox One does have restrictions on used games and has an Internet connection requirement, we wonder whether the Xbox One has already lost the war against the PS4. Time will tell.

Oh well PS+ is worth the money.
if that's true then there's almost no reason NOT to get it...$5 is nothing.XvGojira wrote:jellydonut25 wrote:How much does PS+ cost anyway? Isn't it like the same as XBL?
I remember reading somewhere that the PS4 PS+ would be $5 a month.
