So you're willing to forgive them just like that?
I would be. Holding grudges isn't really useful.

Especially in an industry where nobody is infallible.

Besides which, "forgive" them? They didn't ACTUALLY do anything.
Gills.

I had a larger grudge against Sony for killing off the Dreamcast and I still bought the PS2 and PS3 but as Jelly said it's stupid to hate a company, at least they're amending their mistakes before the console launches. Sony didn't do that with the PS3 and said some dumb things too when that was launched. Fans bitched about the price and the Kaz pretty much said get a second job to buy our product.

I'm trying to decide now if I want to cancel my PS4 and get the Xbox One or what. Chances are I'll go with the Xbox One and pick up the PS4 later unless I get a ton of money between now and November/December then I'll get both.

On for trying to screw gamers out of their money and ownership of games.

They ammended that before the console is coming out if they had kept it in then decided to back track I could see some animosity toward them at least they're trying to make things right from the get go.

again, since they didn't ACTUALLY do anything, there's nothing to forgive.

If I say, "I'm gonna kill you" to someone, am I trying to kill them?

Don't mind him he was hoping MS would mess up so Sony would be back on top; Kain is a bit of a Sony fanboy. :P

I may be a Sony fanboy, but that does not mean I want MS gone. If MS was not there, Sony would have no competition and could do whatever they wanted. In the end, I am still a gamer and want to enjoy all games on all platforms. It's just that after 4 RRODs and that MS has lackluster first party titles compared to Sony, I am very skeptical of their games.

Nevertheless, my main problem is MS still tried to screw the gamers over. They might have rectified it before the console game out, but they were still going to do it. Thus, they have to earn my trust back and the trust of many gamers out there. What is to just stop them from turning those DRM features back on 2 years from now?

I've decided to get Ryse Son of Rome and Assassin's Creed IV with my Xbox One. Also an extra controller.

They WILL eventually reinstate the"no ownership" policy once enough people have bought the console.

They'd be stupid to as Jelly pointed out lawsuits and if they do reinstate it I gurantee a lot of people will get rid of the system.

Not if the user agreements for the system states you give up all rights to sue MS for any reason.

Now to be fair, if MS were to have done these features in 2016, they might not have been given as much backlash because internet services will probably be much better by then. They also should have been upfront about everything and explained the benefits to what they were trying to do. Instead, they chose to ignore it because they knew people weren't going to like it, and royally ****ed up their trust with people. You might not have a problem with it because they didn't do it, but many others, including myself, will not forgive them because it was the principle of the matter.

I'm on the fence of the XBOne. I'm probably going to get a PS4 before it, but I'm going to wait at least a year for both sides to shake out all the issues they both will inevitably have, and also so that proper next-gen games come out and not just stuff that'll pop up on both generations.

The biggest issue they had with the DMR stuff was the fact they just said they were doing X and Y but not telling you why, as a consumer, it would improve your experience. Take the always online thing that got knocked down, from what I heard and understood that since it's always on it would be always connected to "the cloud" to help ease up resources on games to help them run faster, better, and etc etc. If they put that foot forward first instead of skipping the other steps of the hokey pokey and just straight to shake it all about on the wrong foot.

That said, there still would have been SOME backlash. But not as vitriolic as it was.

I honestly think Microsoft wasn't ready for E3, but felt they HAD to unveil the system...they've made far too many changes to the system and bundle between then and now for me to think they were unveiling what they thought of as the final product.

I think it was more that they were completely out of touch with their customers than anything else. MS was trying to make a system for 2030, NOT 2013. I understand they want to go to the future with these things, but we are just not ready for that yet. I doubt every area in the US will have stable internet to do an always connected requirement until the next gaming generation.

So it seems like MS is putting up a review embargo on their games and console until noon of the 22nd.

Also, there are reports that the new Kids of Duty game will only be running in 720P on the XBOne while it will be 1080P on the PS4.

That first point sucks. Embargoes never look good, even if the final product is great. It makes them seem unsure of the reception, that they don't trust the product to be good enough.

The second point, I'm sure this will be the generation where 1080P becomes standard. While it does suck that the Xbone won't be getting it right out the box, I'm sure that the next COD game will be 1080p on all platforms.

Ryse is only running at 920p or something like that. 1080p doesn't really matter unless you're sitting the proper distance away.

The review embargo sucks though it reminds me of A:CM which had a review embargos and look how that turned out. The game was fun but had major flaws.
