Overall, the game was very polarizing. I loved the last bit of the game as that was down right incredible. There were a lot of great moments of gameplay to be found and I did like the encounter with the Arkham Knight after his identity was revealed.

Unfortunately, that brings me to my first issue. His identity was lackluster as it was Also, I will never 100% this game ever again because my god, I HATE THE BATMOBILE!! Or rather, I hate tank battles. Dealing with the tank battles in the main story was already lazy enough as far as boss battles are concerned, but the fact that There is no excuse for him and Batman to not have fought hand to hand. In fact, there were no melee battles to be found at all in this game with a villain and none of the boss battles topped the Scarecrow missions from Asylum or the Mr Freeze battle from City. What he hell was Rocksteady doing this last four years? It's like they put all of their effort into the last 20 minutes of the game and took a few years off for the rest.

A lot of the side missions felt wasted because the payoffs were not there. Hell, was pretty much just a normal goon. Granted, it is realistic, but it took away from him being a big baddie in the franchise.

Sadly, the game, while having a spectacular finale, was not what I was hoping for. There were just way too many missed opportunities and some of the side missions felt like they were padded out for the sake of making the game longer. The story wasn't terrible, but it wasn't exactly stellar either. However, Bruce was a complete and total jackass.

I did like the sections where you got to work with the other characters, but they were all too brief and unnecessary. The tank sections were just way too tedious and frustrating and the boss battles were a HUGE let down. Or rather, the lack of them. Hell, . Overall, I give it a 7.5/10. It is by far the weakest game in the Arkham trilogy and now it makes me want to go back and replay Asylum (but I'll wait to see if WB is really porting it to the PS4 first).

Got a new phone. Got the Jurassic World game. It's an upgrade from the Jurassic Park, but still waiting on the mythical Operation Genesis 2.

Playing Arkham Origins but that'll probably go on hiatus if I don't finish it before Godzilla comes out. It's actually a lot better than what I thought it was going to be. After I beat that and Godzilla I'm moving on to Arkham Knight.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Right out of the gate, this game is playing mind tricks. But holy hell is the gameplay fun! And the customization and Mother Base stuff. This may be the last Metal Gear game but damn is it one hell of a final ride. Wish Snake/Boss talked more but Keifer is more costly than David Hayter.

Edit: Seveal more hours in and the gameplay is amazing but since the story is told in missions and not one singular journey, I'm not plowing through the game like I would with other Metal Gears. Which I guess is a testament to it's non-main mission gameplay. I love Side OPS, base maintenance, and item development. But again, turns me away from the main story. Oh, I'd love to have a silenced sniper rifle for this mission, just need 100 more materials and to level my R&D base up. Time to go trash a few bases!

the other day due to Target giving GZ for free with it. So much for my **** Konami stance.

Speaking of which, I just played through Ground Zeroes and I'm definitely glad I did not pay a cent for it. It was a pretty cool 2 hour long opening mission that had no reason to be sold on its own. I don't like the lack of an actual map on the screen though as it got annoying to constantly having to pause the game to look at it, especially when I was carrying Paz. My god that part is pretty much impossible to get through without being seen. Anyway, now that I am done with that I will probably start The Phantom Pain on Friday. OH yeah, glad I didn't have to wait a year and a half for the rest of the story.

I bought GZ at full price and understand people's issue with the price point for basically the equivalent of the tanker mission of MGS2. I still loved it and still need to complete some things in it and transfer the data over to TPP.

Also spend what felt like a full night (real life not in game) on one boss fight. It went from being really tense to annoying to blood boiling frustration. After pausing for a break, and a text to my friend that would have been a single sentence if it wasn't for all the expletives, I finally beat it.

And I've been wondering when the Forward Operating Base online stuff comes into play, and from reading online it pops up around mission 21 or something. It's something I've been kind of dreading, an online base that can be raided even when you're not online. But reading up on it on forums, it doesn't sound too terrible. Any materials stolen from you are only FOB materials not Mother Base materials, but FOB materials can be used on Mother Base. Officers auto assigned to the FOB are the worthless drecks sitting in the waiting room, so if they get killed or fultoned out it's not a huge loss. And the rewards for successfully defending a raid are pretty decent (which I think you get even if you don't actually defend it yourself) but so is successfully raiding as well.

Dragonball Xenoverse - So I bought this game upon release and loved it. I played it for about 3 weeks non stop before trading it back in...and I just bought it again a few weeks ago (boredom and I regretted trading it in). It's the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time. It's far from perfect, but the patches have improved PVP and there are now ways to counter beam spammers. Grinding does suck, but otherwise I love this game.


I already traded in my copy of Godzilla for PS4 - the game was fun, but the online stuff was too problematic and far too unbalanced. Good luck beating anyone with Biollante who knows what they are doing.

So I just spent the last 10 hour playing TPP. I am enjoying it immensely, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, it frustrates me in the same way Peace Walker did.

First, I am enjoying the open world aspect and traveling around. However, driving sucks. It is hard to drive off road, yet, there are A LOT of enemy outposts along the roads, making it kind of pointless to even bother driving. The lack of tranqs and not being able to have a spare suppressor sucks ass though. I was trying to go through the game without killing anyone, but nope, can't do that. Not to mention I just fought an army of bosses and my tranq gun was worthless, so I had no choice but to kill them. I have to admit though, I freaking suck ass at stealth in this game. I died 6 times in the first mission to rescue Miller trying to be stealthy before I said screw it and just CQC'd everyone. Very annoying. I also just found out there are secondary objectives in the missions, which would have been nice to have known about before. -_- The controls are pretty good for the most part and I love the weather system. However, like Peace Walker, I hate this stupid mission system. I don't like this at all. I want the story to flow into each other without breaks in it. Not to mention it has the lazy cheap story telling aspect of just talking over a mission screen. I gave PW leeway for it because it was a PSP game, but this game has no excuse for it being a next gen console game.

Speaking of story, it makes little sense right now.

I spent a few hours doing some side missions today. God damn those stupid shooting range ones are frustrating, especially the damn R&D one.

Oh, there was another thing I forgot to mention yesterday, which made me mad. What the hell was the point of spending 15 minutes customizing a head when nothing came out of it?

I've been playing ESO on the weekends with my friend out in California other than that during the week I've been trying to play either MGSV (PS4) or KH2 HD but I've gotten side tracked by The Big Bang Theory taking up my free time lol.

I'm in one of those weird moods were I don't feel like gaming much to be honest. I did spend a good chunk of time on Godzilla but that was only during my vacation.

I did some story missions today with a couple side ones. I'm really getting sick of being penalized for doing stuff though that I need to to accomplish the mission because the game hasn't bothered to give me the equipment I need to do it without helicopter support (like blowing up tanks). Oh, and how about a damn Tranq sniper rifle already? A few more things getting on my nerves is traveling around the map just to do side missions because it takes so long to get to the other end as going by copter doesn't always work thanks to the stupid load times for that and it doesn't always bring you close enough and the lack of an actual conversation. All I hear is Miller or Ocelot talking with maybe 3 words from Big Boss between them. Even the boring expository cassette tapes don't really have much in the way of dialog from Boss.

On the other hand, the sniper battle with Quiet was awesome, but seriously, I don't get why she needs to be nearly butt ass naked. God damn the Japanese and their need for pointless fanservice just to... Anyway, that battle was fun and reminded me a lot of the battle with The End in Snake Eater. It's just too bad I didn't have a freaking Tranq sniper rifle to win the battle with.

Overall, I am enjoying the hell out of the gameplay, but the side missions, inability to have the right weapons, long distance traveling, and lackluster story is really getting annoying. If I were to rate the game right now, it would be no higher than an 8/10, and it sure as hell is no Game of the Year as people were expecting it to be.

Replay missions, fulton EVERYTHING and EVERYONE you can and if you run out call in a supply drop, sell things (fultoned turret guns, mortors, and vehicles later on) for GMP, and develop develop develop. My missions are never done unless I take over the base and fulton all the crew and steal all the items I can. I just did one I'm going to massively repeat due to several cargo containers of fuel material. Fulton all the soldiers to increase your levels in Mother Base. Side note, get rid of ANYONE with the trouble maker skill, they cause fights/sickness leading to crew being tossed into the medbay and brig. Those with the Diplomat skill supposedly evens things out but I just hated seeing several messages of "fights broke out on Mother Base" before and after every mission.

And I think you have to have someone with a certain skill to develop tranq sniper. In the mission select screen, you'll see what skills and blueprints are in that mission above the map. Find the mission with the skill you need to develop the tranq sniper and fulton everyone. I believe it saves all your fultons and progress after each checkpoint so if you want to abort mid mission back to the ACC, you can do that and still keep the troops and materials you nabbed. There's a late game resource grind trick exploiting that fact.

I tend to stay in the chopper between missions, as traversing the landscape doesn't hold my attention much. So I play all the cassettes while I sit on the ACC developing weapons and items, customizing the emblem (which I need to do, mine is just boring compared to some I've seen online), and all that jazz. I stop by mother base every now and again and and do the medical strut target practice mission. Sure it's a hit on the GMP, but honestly it's not enough for me to care.

You can defeat her with out using any weapons, that's one of those side objectives. But yeah, I had to run at her with just my Tranq pistol. Kind of fun but also not they way I would have wanted to play it. As for her lack of clothing. It's Japan. You could zoom in and see Paz in her undies in Peace Walker. And I know there are clothing costumes for Quiet and I do wish they were a bit more quickly accessible (I only have 3 I can see on her development screen, all of which are just variations on her current attire).

And should I only be going after the dudes that have Cs or higher in skills?

I played several more hours today. Finally got my tranq sniper rifle, but now I need a freaking silencer for it. How do I get one attached?

I now have access to Africa, but I was trying to get more side missions done in Afghanistan. However, after a while, I've come to realize these side missions are just endless and way too repetitive. I'm going to play through stuff in Africa the next time I play.

BTW, wasn't Outer Heaven in the original game in Africa?

Oh yeah, and is there any way to obtain fuel quicker?

You have to develop the next level or two tranq rifle. It's a bit of a grind. But that's how it works. Unless you have the legendary gunsmith (you get via a series of side ops), which you can customize your weapons. That's what I'm doing. I have the suppressor from the silenced standard rifle and called it good.

The missions are fairly repetitive but it's about HOW you do it. Hence why all the different weapons and items. Like the early mission to take out a high rank officer at a small-ish base. You can stealth in, and fulton him. Or come in on the chopper, guns blazing and kill everything.

As for fuel, mission 21 has some fuel containers. But if you finish the mission you have to wait what ever the refresh rate is on those things, which seems longer than it should be. So go in, take the containers hit a check point (I think if you see the orange swirly icon in the corner it counts) and abort mission and do it again. And there's the other exploit but it uses end game tech on Mission 12.

involving missions 21 and 12. Honestly, Kaz's briefing in mission 21 that you hear isn't much of a spoiler. The mission objective it to.... wait for it..... extract some one to get information from them. Shocking, I know. Such a departure from all the other missions where you extract some one. But since you're in Africa, you're not too far off from this mission.

I plan of farming that mission and Mission 8 (where you're supposed to destroy some vehicles but fulton them and sell them off for massive GMP) for a night and develop all that I can with my piles and piles of resources afterwards.

Yup, Metal Gear or takes place in Africa. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake takes place in located between the former Soviet Union, China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

So if this doesn't sort of heavily foreshadow or tie into the original two games, I think it was totally meant to.

They also announced some more costumes for both single player and MGO. The Boss and Eva from MGS3 for female avatars. Tuxedo and MGS3 sneaking suit for SP and male avatars. And more stuff for D-Horse [insert TES IV: Oblivion Horse Armor DLC joke here].

I got the gunsmith and was able to put a suppressor on my sniper rifle. I'm currently doing side missions to get Quiet ranked up so I can buy her the tranq rifle.

Okay, apparently replaying main missions lower the GMP reward by half each time. I was framing tanks from mission 8, got an S rank it cost me GMP. I think the rewards reset, as they start out with white numbers showing you the max reward I believe, then when you beat it, it shows the reward you got in blue. Many of the missions went back to white recently.

Anyway, it just means that when farming the tanks in mission 8 don't just hop into a chopper/leave the hot zone and finish the mission. Wait for a save state, and abort. you keep the vehicles and can sell them. I'm over 2,000,000 GMP right now.

I'm not even going to bother trying to get an S rank. I did one mission perfectly before, didn't kill anyone, extracted everyone so I captured the base, did every objective, and didn't get seen, but I still only got a B.

Also, I hate it put it this way, but the story sucks ass and the open world blows. There was nothing wrong with the way MGS was in the past, it should have been the same. Hell, there is no need for this to be an open world at all. There is nothing lively about it. I don't feel like anyone would actually live in those areas. There are no natives to help you. You don't see anything but soldiers around. Where are the civilians? Where are the farmers? How come there are no lions in Africa?

Not to mention all of the side missions are pretty much all of the same. Extract that guy. Extract this guy. Blow that thing up. Blow this thing up. How about sneaking into a base to sabotage some type of weapons development?
