Beat Chapter 1. Really wish this was structured more like a standard MGS game and wish Snake/Big Boss actually talked. Hearing everyone else monologue is just damn irritating now.

You know, every time I am really enjoying this game, something has to happen in it that completely sucks all of the fun away.

First off, missions 28 started out so damn fun with the .

Then I get to Mission 29 which was pure grade A bullshit. It took e over an hour to beat this one and I only did so because This was just a nightmare and sucked all of the fun I was having out of the game. If they are going to throw you into

Anyway, that is where I left off for tonight. Oh, and it was quite boring having to send 239 soldiers to the quarantine bay.

I honestly think that boss battles should be exempt from being charged GMP for equipment. At least with the final boss of chapter 1, they give you auto supply drops when you get low on your current weapon. Which funnily enough is how I think I defeated that boss, because one was coming in and I was running away when the last tiny tick of health vanished. Sadly, it wasn't one of the special requirements.

Mission 28

Mission 29

Yeah the quarantine stuff suuuucked. I spent like 30 minutes looking at the stats and stuff of the initial infected and listened to the tapes which said something about their mouths. And I still didn't freaking get it.

Now not only do I have to replenish my ranks again, but make sure they're not just crappy rando soldiers.

Okay, so missions 30 and 31 were pretty damn awesome. In fact, I kind of wish the game ended there.

But there's still some unexplained things

This does feel like it was 5 chapters but it was cut down to 2 and the fluff from chapters 3-5 were shoved into the main missions of chapter 1.

Well come on, I think it is quite obvious that Eli is

Yes, there would still be some unanswered things, but honestly, I felt that if the game had ended right there, I would have been satisfied as Well, okay, the last one is just if it ended there, as I'm sure it is going to become a bigger part in Chapter 2.

I don't understand the reason for the chapters though. Why bother with them to begin with? The game is what, 50 missions long? That seems kind of odd to make Chapter 1 be 31 missions and then Chapter 2 be 19. Very disjointed. I'm not sure whether I should blame Konami for this, of if this was all Kojima. It sounds like the game was not even finished, which means that Kojima was not really going to have it out this year if that was the case. Perhaps this is what lead to him being fired?

It's obvious who Eli is, but if this game ended at chapter 1, why even bother bringing him in if he doesn't add anything to the plot other than to have Ocelot mention Les Enfant Terrible.

Like I said it feels like chapters were cut and a majority of fluff missions (extract dude X, kill dude Y) were shoved into chapter 1.

Got max fultons and can now farm mission 12. Also have so much biological material that I sold a chunk and maxed my GMP. It was glorious, I developed so many things, almost randomly.

Has anyone here played a game called Until Dawn? I just learned about it from Honest Trailers and it sounds pretty awesome. I want to play it to see what type of endings I can get and who I can kill off when. On the other hand, it's probably like Heavy Rain where the deaths are like scripted 3 different moments in the entire thing.

Spent half of the day playing the game some more. I got a few story missions done, but it seems like the story missions are slowing down for some reason. I did a bunch more side missions though, got the Wormhole Fulton and rescued . The chapter in the quarantine zone was pretty damn awesome, especially the end of it. God, this game does so many things right and there is so much fun to be had, and yet, it always manages to find something that ruins it. Now things are getting really interesting with the virus and with Eli. Either

I'm not that far yet but I know something that happens in mission 43(?) but since I have the butterfly in my emblem it halts game progress.

As for Eli and Snake, have you listened to all the cassettes?

And can I just say how much I freaking HATE riot suits? Takes several lethal rounds just to take off the helmet and in impervious to anything else. I died/failed that mission to collect the film roll so many times. I ended up giving Quite the heavy sniper rifle and having her kill everyone before infiltrating. I know combat deployments can help hinder enemies from have that, but it takes too long and doesn't seem to last long enough. I'm actually trying to max out my FOB combat struts so I can have MAX deployment and just send out enough deployments to do it in one go. Last night I just wandered around Afghanistan collecting golden crescents while watching reruns of Law and Order so that I could take out all the enemy equipment deployments. And honestly, if 4 combat FOB struts aren't enough I'd almost consider buying more MB coins just to start another FOB.

Speaking of FOBs, have you been infiltrated yet? I haven't yet, or at least I haven't had any notification that I have been infiltrated. I know you get rewards for defending infiltrations.

So I am confused about the missions in this game. I thought there were only 50 of them, but every mission that has popped up in the 40s has been a harder difficulty of the previous one except for 46 and I'm missing one before that (it might be 42 or 43, not sure which). Please tell me Chapter 2 actually has more than like 5 story missions.

It caps out on 50 I believe, but there is a "secret" mission, which you know what it is by seeing what you don't have.

But that;s why this game feels unfinished. Instead of giving us filler story missions like in Chapter 1, Chapter 2 is full of Extreme Mode and Subsistence Mode mission repeats. Thing that, if they weren't hurried, those missions would be unlocked after being the game in full to play through as a harder New Game + mode or something. But they had to shove what they had into Chapter 2 so it wouldn't be 5 missions long.

People have data mined, and still are, the PC version for more info. There's data and elements of cut missions and content, and a rumored title card for a third chapter.

And the conspiracy theories about how more levels/content will unlock if enough nuclear weapons are disarmed via FOB infiltrations. Not sure if you reached this point, but when you get 150,000 heroism (I think) you can develop nuclear weapons. But I think developing them also decimate your heroism, which if you keep loosing that your horn actually gets bigger the less heroic you are.

I'm just hoping that there's a better way to get MB coins in MGO instead of the paltry amount you get every now and again for connecting online once in a blue moon (most of the stuff is materials and GMP). I have like 300 and it cost 1000 minimum to build a second FOB.

The farming kind of takes time. You use processes materials to develop Mother Base and all that. So the stuff you're farming is raw materials which takes time to process. The amount of time it takes has yet to be pinned down from what I've read. But you can't just leave your game on over night and have everything processes, there's some sort of AFK safety feature in the code or something.

The FOB has two basic reasons. The online component and offline component. Online, you can infiltrate other people's FOB, stealing their crew*, their online raw materials, and stationary equipment (mortars, machine gun placements, anti-air turrets) as well as getting some good rewards for completing infiltration. And that were nukes show up. You can dismantle/steal other people's nuke and whatnot as well. I'm not entirely clear on the quality and quantity of the rewards.

*Some say that they actually steal the people assigned to your security department while others say that the stolen crew are basically randomly generated.

The offline component just adds on to your Mother Base stats. Having a full Mother Base and FOB give max storage of 200 crew in each department (I think, some one was talking about it on the subreddit but I"m not 100% sure). And more crew means higher levels, higher levels mean that development time shrinks, and auto collecting resources time goes down. I also just read that higher Mother Base levels means encountering enemies with higher level stats, maxing at 30 or 40% S rank. The raw resources the FOB gathers are not apart of your Mother Base resources, and so can be stolen by infiltrators. So while it sucks that it can get stolen, they can't bring you down to 0 raw materials.

And I figured out why I haven'y been infiltrated. You don't go on the infiltration rotation list until you infiltrate someone else's FOB. Which is a really smart way of doing that. So as long as I don't infiltrate other people's bases, I won't get infiltrated.

I might hop on to the subreddit and link to some of the sources, they might explain better than I can.

You can always abort and re-equip yourself, or there are actually 3 loadouts and you can modify them and then request a supply drop of one of the other loadouts.

But here's the link with some stuff on... well just about everything that's not missions.

I beat it finally and mission 46. That was kind of stupid that

EDIT: Here are my thoughts on the game as a whole (trying t avoid spoilers):

+ The gameplay was beyond fun as the stealth was fantastic and I liked the ability to approach missions in different ways.

+ Quiet was just freaking badass and her story arc was well done even if it was shameless at times.

+ Buddy system brought something new to the franchise.

+ Missions 7, 30, 31, and 43 are easily the best missions in the game.

+ The identity to the Man on Fire.

+ The ending to Chapter 1 freaking rocked.

+ The ending to Chapter 2 was good as it sets everything in motion that will happen afterwards in the timeline. It all makes sense now. That was more satisfying than anything else.

- Eli was utterly pointless.

- There was no need for the game to be broken into chapters, especially when the second chapter is only like 7 missions.

- Having harder difficulty levels as main story missions was freaking lazy as hell. Whomever decided to that is a friggin "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" and needs to be "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" slapped.

- The boss battles are some of the worst of the entire franchise. They weren't as bad as those in Peace Walker (thankfully you didn't have to fight them a million times to get parts), but they were still boring and generic. Mission 45's boss battle is Arkham Knight's tank battles all over again.

- No development for any of the bosses. One thing every other Metal Gear game has done was make us really enjoy knowing a bit about the bosses we fight before we fight them.

- Snake doesn't actually seem like he is in charge when Miller and Ocelot are the ones constantly telling him what to do.

- Missions 28, 29, and 45 are the worst missions in the game.

- Way too much repetition between the side missions. There are 157 side missions but only like 6 variations. This is something I expect from Ubisoft, NOT Konami.

- The story is lackluster in the long run and Snake barely ever talks.

- Open world was way too open when it is pretty lifeless.

Overall, it isn't anywhere near the best of the Metal Gear franchise, but sadly, it is one of the better games out on this new generation of machines. It does have some truly great moments at the end of its chapters that really set it up, and the gameplay is great. Unfortunately, that is then ruined by half-assed boss battles and tedious side quests, which ultimately drops my score down from an 8 to a 7/10 stars.

Oh, one little side note, it would have been cool if some of the people that joined your crew were those that became bosses in the original MG game.

Beat the game, reached mission 50. But there's still a hidden secret mission to finish but I'm blocking it at the moment so I can grind and grind and develop all the items.

And while I do understand why the last mission was what it was, I do kind of wish there was more of boss battle to the ending. It's just sort of an anticlimactic ending.

A cool way for the series to end, fan art comic incoming...

Okay, so first off, I let Quiet go. There's a way to mod her back in, but I'm think of seeing how D-Dog and D-Walker can work as replacements. Just went through and S ranked all the main missions so I could develop the Raiden suit so I can stealth run to help with farming. Oddly the mission that I thought that would be one of the toughest was quite easy (Skull Face). Bring in a car, toss a smoke grenade in the back and drive right through OKB-0. I only got an alert at the end when I smashed a Walker Gear into the elevator at the end of the base. Super easy.

Anyway, I played the Beta of Battlefront. It gave you 3 modes to play from, two online and one off. The offline mode was just a survival mode. 1-2 players fight wave after wave of enemies (it only lasted like 5 waves or something). There are collectibles tossed around the level. Not sure if getting them all does anything in the beta. But I was slightly disappointed that they were just a floating triangle and not something a bit more Star War-y.

As for the other online modes there was Drop Zone and Walker Assault. Drop Zone you fight over escape pods that drop from the sky. It's basically king of the hill but the hill moves after it's captured long enough. Sullest is a strange level, a fair amount of verticality but only if you have the jet pack. There's no set spawn points and while you can spawn on your partner, but if you're protecting the escape pod and you both die, prepare to walk across the map to get back. Which honestly it's almost better just to stay put and hope the next pod lands near you, as by the time you get back the other team will more than likely be almost done defending it. Unless the rest of your team is on point and not just trying to snipe from behind rocks.

Walker Assault is Hoth. The imperials have to get to and destroy the power generators, while the Rebels try to keep upload nodes activated and destroy the walkers. If you are not on the Imperial side, you're going to loose. Every uneven. Really needs to be tweaked.

While fun with a friend, I do have a lot of misgivings with this game.

I dislike the way they do load outs. You get one gun and eventually 3 slots for items/weapons you unlock as cards. One you use them they have to refresh. And once you select the card you can't unselect it without using it. So if you select the sniper rifle card and the guy you were going to snipe gets blown up, you have to use that one shot before going back to your standard weapon. The only one that's different that I played with was the personal shield. You can only use that after you collect an energy pick up in the level. I don't know if the energy pick ups stack or not. The card had a number 5 on it and I thought that was it's number of uses but it didn't seem to change after using. One good thing for beginers is that you can partner up with other players and share their cards. So while I started with nothing but the carp blaster, I was able to fool around with the jet pack and a few other items before I unlocked them myself.

I can not count how many times I lost two card because I selected one weapon, realized that I no longer needed it and hit 1 to go back to my main like most other FPS and tossed a thermal detonator.

Also there's no sub weapon like previous Battlefronts. Over heat you gun? Tough, now you just have to try and out run blaster fire while it recharges. You can reload it fast if you hit R when the bar his the yellow mark (kind of like Gears of War reloading) but if you miss it, it takes even longer to cool down. So you don't get a side arm to defend yourself with while it recharges.

All the vehicles (which are in the Hoth map at the moment) are pickups and never only saw them for the rebel side. I have no idea how to get to pilot either walkers or the Tie fighter.

Firing weapons is fine but movement feels sluggish as hell. Maybe the sensitivity settings are default low or something but if I got shot from behind, chances are I wouldn't be able to retaliate before death occurred. And running barely feels like you go any faster.

I kind of don't want to buy this game, but seeing as the only friend I really play online games pre-ordered it, if I don't get it too we won't be playing together for quite some time. And since it's Star Wars he probably won't see the faults and drop it as quick as he did with BF Hardline (which I'm glad I got at a discount but still feel like I over paid).

The things I liked the most were just visual. It is very much Star Wars. I'm surprised that the game runs as smooth and as good looking on my machine. The interface is simple and intuitive and partnering up and joining a friend's game is quick and easy.

I've played Battlefront for a few hours and it is not for me. I'm a natural born Storm Trooper, I can't hit ****. I have died some many times it is not even funny. It also doesn't help that the other team always has guys with rifles, shields, and super jump jetpacks when all I have access to is a worthless grenade and handgun. It takes like 10 shots to kill one enemy while only 3 to kill me. It isn't a bad game, it just isn't for me. I will not be spending a dime on it, but I'll just play the beta for a bit when I have free time tomorrow just because it is cool to do something in the Star Wars universe, especially with the pretty graphics.

I've been playing Dragon Age Inquistion GOTY on Xbox One. It's a very gorgeous game and pretty fun I'm not very far in it because I've been getting side tracked doing side stuff and exploring.
