Beat Gears 5 earlier today. It was IMHO the best of the franchise. Acts 1 and 4 are pretty short but Acts 2 and 3 are very meaty. They're open world and offer a variety of side quests.

I'm probably going to do Gears 5 MP with friends for the time being and on Friday I'll start Link's Awakening remake for the Switch, which will be my first time playing it because for some reason I never got it on my Gameboy growing up.

I've been playing some more Monster Hunter World on PC. Trying to get at least one full set of each of the HR armor. Although I might forego that endeavor with Iceborn's Master Rank. Slowly trying to get ready of Iceborn in 202.

I've been chilling out watching MST3K and playing some ARK Survival Evolved. These survival/base building games scratch an itch for me for some reason and dinosaurs are always a plus in games. I just wish this games was more optimized. My PC could barely play it when I bought it in early access. I can run the Doom on High/ultra (forget which) with little issue, but a good chunk of ARK's settings have to be on medium to play. It still has the second longest loading time of any game I currently have installed (That award goes to GTAV but it doesn't have a gigantic lead). Mods are a godsend for games like this though.

I want to get the new Zelda game but I don't have the funds for it. Although if I do get the second job I have an interview for on Tuesday, I'll get it in celebration.

I've been playing Zelda Link's Awakening on Switch. I was going to go for a 100% playthrough but I think I'll save that for my next playthrough. I just finished the second dungeon last night. I would have been a lot further but I messed up on the 2nd dungeon Friday night so I had to restart and the closest save file I had was about 45 minutes into the game from when I started Thursday at midnight.

I'm really enjoying the game and the art style, like Wind Waker before it, it's really grown on me. I should probably have it finished with in a couple of weeks. Not sure what I'll start after that. I'm thinking maybe DMC2 or Metro Exodus.

last game I beat was Man of Medan. currently playing Borderlands 3. loving it, althought some of the later boss battles can be a bit frustrating for solo players. Love my Fl4ck build though. dominance ftw!

Almost done with Zelda Link's Awakening (2019), I just need three more seashells to upgrade my sword and then three more dungeons to do. So far I'm really enjoying this game and I think it's becoming my favorite Zelda game to date. I like how it's a full Zelda adventure with out all the length to it. I'm not 100% sure yet if I'll be getting all the heart pieces, I know I won't be getting all the seashells just enough to upgrade my sword because the reward for getting all 50 isn't anything to be excited about. I'm not sure if I'll be doing all the figures either, I'm not 100% sure what the reward is for that if there even is a reward for it.

A friend is having a big gaming weekend in November and so I reinstalled a few games we may play (although I doubt we'll play all of them), but another friend pointed out Destiny 2 went free to play and so I downloaded that and I've drawn into to that. The main reason is that the gameplay is great, although it took me awhile to get used to some of the controls of the powers (pressing G for a finisher, C is for melee or my knife throwing ability, and F is my six shooter with the power of MILLION SUNS!). Other than the basic shot, jump, kill mechanics, the massive amount of currencies/drops was a tad overwhelming. I have no idea what my class is. You get three options. Basic solider, space wizard, and whatever one I chose. I forget. On each area/world has some special currency that you the mission givers of that place in exchanges for items or engrams, or something I think. And as far as I can tell you can't sell your old gear but just break it down. You a special crystal or something if they're purple, and if they're blue or higher you get a currency that you use with a dude at the hub world to get guns or gun mods. There's a lot and I feel like if I played this from it's release, it'd all make sense but since I jumped in after it went F2P and they have a few DLCs and such, there's all these extra mechanics and whatnot that just go right over my head. I just found out after several days of playing I have some mods I can put into my gun and gear. Although I'm so low level, I really don't think it matters.

Story-wise I have NO flipping clue what the hell is going on. All I know is that I'm a purple chick who throws knives and and can summon a flaming six shooter every now and then and that there's at least 4 different alien species that seem to want to kill everything that's not them.

It's a fun game. It's probably even better with friends. But I also feel like, since I have no investment in the narrative, I may fall off playing it at some point.

Not sure how far I am into it, but been playing Days Gone.
It's kinda fun, but also kinda tedious as well.
The sheer amount of "zombies" is kinda crazy though.

Also re-purchaed LEGO Ninjago The Movie which is a lot more "wide open" than most of the other LEGO games.
When you beat a level, the entire area becomes a free-play zone.
Still kinda odd that they didn't have a Jackie Chan LEGO character in this game (since he was in the movie).

I beat Days Gone (or at least I finished the story).
I kinda got tired of attempting to get rid of the hordes.
That plan they had for blowing up the base would do wonders against the hordes.

I got tired of LEGO Ninjago.
It's OK, but got kinda dull rather quickly.

Really want to play Outer Worlds, but I don't want to deal with the Epic Store, and I really don't have the cash flow for another $60 purchase until next paycheck. So I'm trying out Xbox Game Pass on PC. $4 a month, although it's $1 for the first month and these something about 6 months of spotify preminum but I don't use spotify, and have it downloaded onto my computer and waiting for me when I get home from work. I looked at the selection of other games, I might download that Not-Castlevania game by creator(s?) of Castlevania, Bloodstained? Blood something. And there's a few other games that I might try out. I know the selection changes month to month. Gets you hooked into a game then makes you pay for it when it leaves.

Seems like a good way to "rent" something for PC. Until/unless streaming games, sort of like with Google Stadia, becomes a thing and you can pay for a few hours with a game before purchasing.

I just finished off Metro Exodus tonight. Was an excellent game easily the best in the series. Sadly I got the bad ending much like I did with Last Light. My next playthrough I'm going to go for the good ending.

Going to be taking a break from games until next Friday when Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order comes out. So in the meantime I'll watch through the MCU Phase 2 and finish off Ultraman.

Got the LEGO Marvel Trilogy (LEGO Marvel Superheroes 1 & 2, and LEGO Avengers.
Kinda random that they didn't bother tweaking the controls for the first LEGO Marvel Superheroes to match the other 2 games (especially flying).

I'm disappointed we didn't get an Avengers 2 Marvel Lego game to cover the events of phase 3 last spring. In fact o have no idea what if any Lego games are planned for release. Marvel 2 was ok, just didn't care for the stand in voices because of the actors strike. DC villains was a lot of fun, but that was the last one I played just over a year ago
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Against my better judgment I bought Pokémon Sword. It's Pokémon, so if you've played one in the past 20 years, you know how it is. It's not a bad game and I am currently enjoying my time with it, although the new arbitrary rule making so I can't catch over a certain level is dumb. What was wrong with the rule before? You could catch anything but if they were too high of a level they wouldn't listen to you. Can't steamroll a game if your fighter doesn't respond. I like that a majority of the Pokémon are visible and might even chase after you if seen, so you can avoid most random encounters if you want. The new Wild Area with the Gigamax battles in Pokémon Dens is pretty fun. In lieu of straight experience for winning a gigamax (or whatever it's called) battle, you get various items like TMs(attacks) and items that boost experience. So my usual tactic is to take a collection of Pokémon whose type beats the current gym type and grind their levels so that they'll just massacre every battle in the gym. But instead of walking around the same patch of grass to get the most available exp per fight, I just pop some exp items and call it good. I know I'm trading one grind for another, but the Wild Area is just a tad more attractive and distracting than walking back and forth one or two patches of grass hoping for fight. So this game might keep my attention enough for me to actually beat the elite 4, or equivalent, for the first time in since... maybe the DS game? Definitely the GBA, but I really only played FireRed and LeafGreen, which almost shouldn't count.

I haven't played a Gigmax battle (or raid as it's been called) with any other real players yet, as it seems like most are using some sort of reset exploit to find the specific pokemon they're after, so they keep dropping and I just get booted to a solo match with AI trainers. Which is mostly fine to me. The battles have various difficulty levels, shown by the star rating. And as far as I can tell, it just means the pokemon is at a higher level and the AI "partners" chose less effective pokemon. And honestly, if they're still alive when you shrink back to normal size, you probably lost the fight. The nice thing is that even if you lose, they don't "run away" so you can try again, or pop more exp items and then try again.

It's not perfect and a lot of the criticism it gets is warranted. It hasn't evolved it's fighting mechanics. Aside from each generation's gimmick (Mega Evolutions, Z-moves, Gigamax battles etc) that rarely last beyond that generation, it's the same slow turn-based mechanics since the late 90's. As long as you have the type advantage, it's basically tap A to win. At least when it comes to the campaign anyway, I know there's some stuff about IVs and EVs, whatever they are, for post-game/competitive battling (which they made more manageable according to others on the internet). And it's not a power house when it comes to graphics. It doesn't look bad per se but for being the first home console Pokémon game, it's underwhelming. I would not be surprised if it was supposed to be the last hurrah of the 3DS but was tossed onto the Switch mid-development. And excuse for the last delay being for improving the animations is a joke. I'm sorry but the main fighting move my fire/fighting rabbit has is animated by slightly moving the model up and down. And you don't get any new fighting moves for quite some time, unless you use a TM (but all the good ones I have they can't learn, so I'm stuck with it).

I'd say something about missing 400 or so pokemon from near 1000 that have been created but I haven't really missed them. And I do honestly expect them to come back in at some point. If not as a DLC pack then when they make the next edition. Gamefreak used to just make one extra game (Yellow for Red and Blue, Platinum for Gold and Silver etc) but I think they might do what they did last generation (Ultra Sun/Moon). So instead of Pokémon [Another weapon name], it's be Pokémon [Adjective] Sword/Shield. And that would include the rest of the Pokémon, probably mostly appearing in a newly discovered Wild Area so that there wouldn't be much to change in the main game.

I don't see the rest of the Pokedex being added into a Sword/Shield sequel but rather an update to the game. Game Freak caught a lot of flak for not having a complete Pokedex so I see them maybe adding more pokemon in incremental updates.

Use my current position at Gamestop to play a bit of Death Stranding. Only got a few hours in, mission 9 (and there's like 70-80 main story missions). It's not bad. It is slow and depending on how much longer it takes to open up all the gameplay, I think Kojima should just make really long, really weird movies instead. Although the menu interface is ass.

Also downloaded Dauntless for the Switch. It's baby's first Monster Hunter. There's like 7 monsters (most with a variant or two) and a lot of pay for cosmetics with a few types of "premium" currencies. Gameplay wise, it's simple and kind of fun. I haven't needed to change my tactics much from fighting the first simple behemoth and with being tossed in with randos everyone is just wailing on the beast, there's no trip mechanics like MH, which one could argue is a good thing. But the monsters in this don't seem to get as big as MH's beasts. Also you can change your character's appearance at anytime and no option is removed for either body type. Like giving my gal a .

I just finished Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. It was an excellent game combining elements of Dark Souls, Tomb Raider, Metroid/Castlevania and the Force Unleashed into one nice long game. I've decided I'm going to take a break from games for a bit, so I'm not sure what I'll start next right now I want to focus on going through Ultraseven on BD.

A friend bought a lot of games for his all three systems and I think I'll be borrowing some from him that I've wanted to play (Spider-man) or finish (Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn DLC). In all honest I kind of think he's wasting his money, as he usually gets too frustrated at games to finish them. Although it does sound like he's slowly making his way through Jedi Fallen Order on the easiest difficulty, so hopefully his purchases will not have been wasteful. They were mostly used, on sale (black Friday and going out of business prices, so he did make out like a bandit).

Finally completed the last Assigned quest in Monster Hunter World, a tempered Kirin (lighting unicorn). Kept on getting my ass handed to me so I shot up an SOS flare and had three rando hunters help out. Two used bow guns and I swear they were explosive chain guns. That horse barely had a chance to do anything. Then when it ran off to sleep, EVERYONE dropped heavy barrel bombs on it and we nuked it into orbit. So I'm now Hunter Rank 65 and it seems the more I hunt, and the more advanced the monster (elder dragons, temptered, arch-temperard, etc) the more my hunter score will increase. Let's see if I can hit the cap of HR 999 before Monster Hunter World 2 comes out (Or maybe a new MH game on Switch? Cuz hunting on the go has been a staple since the PSP). but I'm probably going to craft all the bows I can, then maybe switch over to a different weapon, either my old standard Switch Axe or try out the Hunting Horn. Oooor, I could fiddle around with the Insect Glave and become a helicopter of death. Either way, the true grind has begun. But Iceborn comes out in 13 days so I'm sure that'll help boost my rank as well.

I want to get Bloodstained. I might see if Best Buy will price match GameStops $19.99 price.

Link's Awakening. It's pretty fun. I beat the first four dungeons. Well I think one of them was an optional dungeon in the cemetary since all I got was a blue tunic.

For the PS4, I still need to pick up Bloodstained, Mega Man 11, and the Mega Man X Collection as I keep forgetting those games exist.

Currently playing the Outer Wilds and loving it. Just a shame if a sequel is made it would probably be Microsoft exclusive. I plan on eventually getting the PS5.
