Official Nintendo System Discussion.

Postby Tom R VanSlambrouck » Thu Sep 11, 2008 8:31 pm

Well since the Wii thread is getting to big thus causing slow down for people trying to access it I decided to create a new thread but this time we can discuss the DS and any other upcoming Nintendo systems coming out.

Speaking about new systems coming out rumor has it that the DS' replacement could be out as earlier as this winter in Japan.

EDIT: Oops there was supposed to be a "I don't have one option" for the poll

Today Nintendo annouced some new stuff

1. The DSi
-Built in Camera
-No more GBA Slot
-Uses SD-Cards
-Ability to download DS-Ware titles

Addressed the Wii Memory Issue
-Now we can use SD cards to expand storage, we could before but now we can actually play games off of them.

New Games
-Punch out as Brick mentioned in the old Nintendo topic
-Sin and Punishment 2
-Reissued GCN games including Donkey Kong Conga, Metroid Prime and MP2 (rumored to be remade with Wii control support)

Plus a lot more stuff that I need to dig up a source for.

Meh, I'd rather have a GBA slot than an SD card slot.

Anyway, Nintendo is not showing very much promise for the Wii at all. Other than RE4DC, I don't think there is a single upcoming Wii game I'll be buying for a year.

You're not interested in Sin and Punishment 2? Or Punch-Out?

Yeah that's what it sounded like at first but actually it's just downloading the games directly to an SD card, not playing them from an SD card.

Nope, and I don't care about sports titles.

Wow Nintendo is really sucking, hopefully it's just a miss quote or something.

It's difficult for me to consider Punch-Out a REAL sports title... but I guess it can be. :?: :?: :?: :?:

So has anything good come out on the VC lately? Any new cool N64 games I never played? Did they finish DKC yet?

All three Donkey Kong Country games are out on the Virtual Console. The only N64 game to come out recently is Mario Golf, which came out today.
This site keeps an up to date list, with reviews and videos.

Well it is boxing on a very basic level after all. Of course it's not as in-depth as Fight Night but anything is better than Facebreaker.

I don't have it yet but I have it in my Gamefly list so when ever I send a game back it'll probably be the one I get in.

Looks pretty interesting.

It's not really a "game" in any way (except for some little minigames to unlock stuff) but it is a really fun thing to play around with. Not really worth 50 bucks, but I traded in my 2 sets of DK bongos and my copy of Capcom vs. SNK 2 for Gamecube,I only ended up paying about 20 bucks.

Anyone else playing the new Strong Bad game "Baddest of the Bands"? I'm not a big point and click fan,but it's pretty funny and it's only ten bucks so what the hell. I doubt I'll be buying an episode each month though,it seems like something you'd definately tire of.

The touch screen on my DS lite is starting to die... flickering and now a white line at the bottom. The touch function still works, but it won't be any good once I can't see. I've never dropped it or anything, so I'm kinda pissed. It's only a year old. :x

I guess I'll have to ask for a new one for xmas.

I was mistaken... it was 2 years ago that I got it. I asked for a new one anyway because I've had my eye on the special edition mario one. And I got it for xmas!
