Yeah I'm debating whether to save up for a WiiU or MA Biollante first.

My problem is, I will play the hell out of Wind Waker and Mario World (and New Mario U since I would buy the one that comes with the digital versions of that game), then DKC in Feb and then I will never touch the thing again until the next full on Zelda or Metroid were to come out in like 2015.

I'm fine with my Nintendo consoles being 1st party Nintendo Game Delivery Systems, and Smash Bros 4 should be out in 2014, but yeah their 3rd party support needs some work.

Well I ended up going out to Best Buy today and picked up both Mario 3D World and Wind Waker since they had them for Buy 1 get 1 50% off.

The unified 3DS/Wii U account patch is now live. My name is gvamptuj if anyone wants to add me to both Wii U and 3DS.

What do you mean by unified account?

Do you mean like you can use a Wii U account with a 3DS account? And by that, do you mean they needed to do a patch for something that the big boys have been doing for 8 years?

Sort of. The acount system isn't as grand as everyone else's. Here's good run down

It's a good start, but they need to have purchases tied to accounts not hardware.

So what about my Wii stuff when I buy a Wii U? Granted, I'll still be keeping my Wii to play Gamecube games, but can I just put the SD card in my Wii into the Wii U that has all of my virtual console games on it? WHat about my current balance on the Wii (I've got like $7)?

You can do a system transfer from your Wii to your Wii U however your content on your Wii will be deleted and erased I believe at least thats how it is when you do system transfers from a DSi/3DS to another DSi/3DS. Its one of the stupid things Nintendo does.

Oh and I tested things out and there is still some bugs I have like $4.65 in my 3DS wallet but when I logged on the eShop earlier to see if Zelda SNES had been added to the Wii U eshop my balance was at 0 so yeah still some bugs need to be worked out.

The one stupid thing? I think they do a lot of stupid things. Their marketing for the Wii U is one of them.

However, that is fine if I lose everything on the Wii as long as all of my saved data and stuff is there on the Wii U.

Well, I think we're going to just buy a Wii U on Saturday morning if my girlfriend's commissions check for work is accurate. Then I'll have all of Xmas break to play through Wind Waker and Mario World.

I said one of their stupid things Kain I know they do a lot of stupid things. I still have the mony on my 3DS its just not able to be shared with my Wii U wallet yet for some reason even though my Nintendo IDs are linked. Like I said they still have some bugs to work out.

So I have another question regarding virtual console games. Can I play the games I have on my 3DS that were on consoles and not handhelds on the WiiU without having to rebuy them? FOr example, I have Zelda 1 and 2 due to the Ambassador program. As such, can I play them on my Wii U so I can actually play them on a tv screen and not a small ass one?

I'm going to go ahead and say that's probably a no.

You will indeed have to rebuy them on the Wii U; however if you bought themm on your Wii you can buy the Wii U versions for $0.50 instead of paying the $3.99 fee for them.

Yes you can transfer your games from you Wii to your Wii U but your Wii U will have to be in Wii mode to play them. If you want them on the Wii U virtual console to play on the Gamepad then you need to rebuy them however Nintendo has it so that if you already bought them on the Wii you get stuff at a discount. SNES stuff is only a $1.50 to buy instead of $7.99.

How kindly gracious of them.

Anyway, I've played through the first 2 worlds of Mario World and the game is quite awesome. There are some really challenging moments in it, which is nice. It is also going to take some getting used to the gamepad though, as I have a habit to constantly be looking at the gamepad screen instead of the tv. Surprisingly, the gamepad does not feel as uncomfortable as I was expecting it to be, but it does feel odd having this giant ass controller in my hand. I haven't held a controller that large since the original X-Bx.

Anyway, I figure Mario World shouldn't take me more than a week to complete depending on how many sub jobs there are this week and then I can play Wind Waker throughout all of Xmas break.

Are you going to pick up the Pro controller Kain? I'd recommend it especially if you plan on getting Monster Hunter.

I'm not a Monster Hunter fan. And I probably will not buy it. I barely ever used the Classic Controller outside of virtual console games, so I don't see the need for it, especially any time soon, especially if I can use the gamepad now with the Virtual Console games I buy on the Wii U. Right now, the only other game I want on the Wii U is Grand Theft Lego.

I also am thinking about buying the Wii versions of REmake and Metroid Prime as I'm thinking about selling off all of my GC stuff so I can just sell off the Wii itself (outside of Mario Sunshine, which I'll keep for collector's value but I have not touched the game since it first came out as it was not that good).
