Splurged and picked up Hollow Knight, Link's Awakening, Bloodstained, and pre-ordered Monster Hunter World Iceborn (comes out the 9th on PC). So many games, so little time.

I just finished Wolfenstein 2 on the Xbox One. That was a great game it had a slow start, so much so I almost gave up on it but got a lot better in the last part of the game.

Next is either MediEvil PS4 or Days Gone. I haven't quite decided yet. I'm leaning more toward MediEvil.

I've heard a not quite positive thing about MediEvil is that even though it's graphics are tuned to 2019, the gameplay is still very 1998. So depending on whether or not you loved how the original played and if you expected some enhancements in more than just visuals, your mileage may vary.

I never did play the original I wanted to but never got around to playing it. That being said I did start the game today and yeah it does have gameplay of a 90s game despite coming out 20+ years later. I still am having fun with the game though and it shouldn't take me that long to finish. I'm guessing in a week or two depending on how much I play.

Well I couldn't really get into MediEvil so I started playing Monster Hunter World on Xbox One I did play it a little bit before but never got very far. In the few days I've played I've managed to make it to the desert area which is the second part of the game. I'm having a blast with it and wish I'd given it a longer go the first time I played it.

Probably play this until Animal Crossing comes out in a few months then move on to that.

I'm loving/hating Bloodstained. There's some minor things that bother me. Like how whip weapons apparently only hit at the front and back of the animation, so if an enemy is between you and where the whip ends, it doesn't get hurt. Also the Switch version, especially in handheld mode, takes it sweet sweet time loading between rooms and areas and if you don't keep the jump button pressed (and some time tilted left or right as well) you'll just fall back down and have to load again just to jump back up to another black loading screen. The crafting and shard system is rather intricate and calls for lots of farming/grinding (although some later gear helps) to make all the meals (each time you eat a new meal you get a permanent stat increase) or new weapons/shards or improved shards. So there are elements that are a tad more grindy/time consuming than I'd like at the moment. A few years ago, I might not have cared but I'd rather be making some semblance of progress in the game than just mob farming for item drops, especially with the dreadful load screens. It also feels a lot more difficult than the last few Castlevania games I've played (DS era) which is more of me issue than something I'd really knock the game for. But it's also scratching that Castlevania itch that hasn't been scratched in a long time. I don't know how well the game is selling, but I'm hopping it's doing great. I'd love a sequel.

But I've also be drawn into Monster Hunter World Iceborn. Because of the massive update, all the mods I've been using are currently dead but a few might not need to be resurrected, like having PS4 controller buttons instead of the default Xbox buttons. They also now put little shines above items that the monsters drop. Although they're white and the new area is mostly snow so it kind of self defeating there, so I might still keep the mod that the little colorful light spires. Anyway the new expansion, what little I've played of it, is great. Sure it's just more MH with some slight improvements and equipment with better stats (my HR gear is maxing out at 70+ defense but the Master Rank gear is starting at 115+). But that just means the monsters hit harder. The Viper Tobi-Kadachi is brutal. Rarely stood still long enough to use the clutch claw to wound him/soften him up to increase damage. He can paralyze you if he bit you and shoots poison quills from his tail, so you could watch your character helplessly flop on the ground paralyzed while you die of poisoning. I can't wait for a day off to kill a few more of them and make a suit of him, the "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!". I also just got a hat that is literally just a macaque sitting behind my head. I love this game.

Animal Crossing... I've avoided that time sink of a series since after the DS, but this new one might just get me.

Started playing RE0 for the first time in 11 years and I still suck ass at it. Ugh. I'm not sure I'm even going to be able to complete with the game due to how low my ammo and healing items are.

Okay, I may have complained about Bloodstain's grinding, but, after an exhausting 12 hour shift, sitting down and zipping between rooms to respawn enemies to farm their drops while watching either Clone Wars or the Great British Baking show is about the most complex thing I can handle. And I just got the shard that increases the money drops, so soon enough I'll be Scrooge McDuck.

I went through Leech Hunter for RE0 and acquired the infinite ammo rewards for my handgun and hunting rifle, so I replayed through the game and it was nice to just decimate everything. I only need to use the magnum and grenade launcher for the Tyrant and final boss while I took out everything else with the infinite weapons.

I played through REMake as Chris today. Though, I'm getting annoyed with this difficutly system. I selected the middle option, but it says I beat the game on easy. WTF?

Image

Also, something annoying I just learned. I always had a hard ass time with the section towards the end in the lab where you have to carry a nitro cannister that makes you go boom if a monster touches you or you shoot a gun. Well out of the many many times I have played through the game, many times I have died in this section, I just learned that the Chimeras do not actually respawn an infinite number of times. -_- I feel like an idiot right now. That means every time I replayed this game I could have taken them out rather than constantly hoping I can drop the container off without exploding.

I'm taking a quick break from Monster Hunter World and started the campaign for the latest Call of Duty. So far its alright typical CoD stuff.

After I finish that I'm going back to MHW until Animal Crossing comes out.

Finishing up High Ranks stuff in MHW. Need to craft those HR weapons to craft some MR weapons. Teostra is a pain but manageable. Lunestra, though, screw that fire kitten.
